I agree that no first round matchup is easy. Still, who were you really hoping to draw? I'd say LA is the weakest team to make the playoffs in the west (or if not, very close to. This is a walk in the park compared to last years first round draw.
I think it's pretty much generally accepted that LA is the best team with the worst record in the west. I would rather play SJ, Phx and Chicago is not even near what they were a few years ago. LA is the team nobody wanted, not because they are unbeatable, but because they have so much potential that could explode at any moment.
EDIt: I mean explode in a good way.
Well we can agree to disagree then. Here is someone who agrees with me though

Whooooo! #1 pick! Now stop fucking around with their development and let this one have at least one season in the minors.
As much as we need a defenseman, they had better not pick Murray. No young defenceman works out until they are older and on some other team. Go with Yakupov and make some trades for a solid D.

I'm hoping for Boston and Vancouver to both be first round exits. The reason for this is so that I can avoid committing a double homicide (at work I'm sandwiched between a Bruins fan and a Canucks fan).

I can't believe Boston and Washington went into OT 0-0. Holtby not allowing a goal in over 60 minutes in his first NHL playoff game? Wow. Too bad I had to work late looked like it would have been a fun game to watch. How the hell did washington only muster 7 shots in the first 2 periods though? Maybe just the 3rd and OT would have been interesting.
