The team motto at this point needs to be - PASS IT TO DANIEL!
That and "no one else get friggen hurt, already!" I hope to see Tanev back soon. Looks like Alberts and Edler might be making their returns before the playoffs, too.

Hahha, ya I hear that. We've had a bad run on injuries this year, but it's a testament to our depth at all positions that we are where we are regardless of those injuries.

You guys should get a two team fantasy league set up.
Sorry to interrupt your two person hockey thread, but I considered watching the Canucks game tonight, just because the playoffs are about to start, and empty will be there. The baseball package and the hockey package use the same channels on Comcast, so purchasing the baseball package allows me to watch all the hockey games for a week or so. You're contending with game two of the A's, so no go.
I've watched a lot of hockey live in my days. There was a semi-pro team where I grew up. There was this chick I was trying to date whose dad was the VP for a major sponsor of the team, so I can recall getting many VIP passes, and many bought intoxicants going to games with her. I catch Portland Winterhawks games here and there as well. See, I don't hate hockey.

I'd be down for a fantasy hockey playoff league. But I think there would only be 5 or 6 teams, and there would be a 3 way tie for first and a 3 way tie for last.

I'm all for running a playoff pool. The fantasy stuff makes 0 sense to me though. (read: I've never bothered to try to Dr. Garbanzoure out how it works)

It's not like the crazy baseball " rotisserie" or whatever. It's simple you get a point for every point your player gets, and a point for a goalie win. You can set up others, such as plus-minus and shutouts, or not include goalies at all. My point was mainly that there is basically only Canucks and Flames fans here (Oilers fans don't count), so it wouldn't be very interesting.

That is what makes fantasy baseball so fun, it's the only sport where you can actually do rotisserie, because there are ten legit statistical categories. You couldn't do that with hockey. There are fantasy baseball leagues set up as a point system, but rotisserie ensures you have to be solid in every category to win. Baseball was the first fantasy sport by the way, every other sport just adapted to the concept.

I did one on a free site years ago that was like that. Pick 10 players (2 of each forward, 4 defence)and 2 goalies. 2 points for a goal, 1 point for an assist. 1 point for a goalie win and 5 points for a shut out. You get two player trades for the whole playoffs, so picking 6 Canucks wouldn't be wise for when they get knocked out the first round.
I'll look around for that site or something similar.

Just for the record I wasn't meaning to bash the rotisserie or fantasy baseball, I was just explaining to Fox that hockey pools are generally less complicated( you're correct way less legit statistics).
Also in regards to Shaxpear: I would never set up a pool where goals were worth more than assists, they should have the same point value in my opinion...

I watched the Canucks game tonight. I'm glad I recognized the team this time! I was worried for a moment that we'd be going into the post season playing like we did against the spOilers. It was great seeing Malhotra accepting the Presidents Trophy with Hank, too.
