Not a bad signing. I've said it before, but I believe most athletes are juiced, still. Testing is so far behind the current steroid technology that the only people who get caught are the guys using last year's shit. Seriously, if you had a chance to triple your income by taking illegal drugs, wait, this is probably the wrong crowd for this question.
I'm amazed the Blue Jays gave him so much money. I didn't think anyone would offer him more than $4 million on a one year deal.
I like what the Blue Jays are doing. They've been forced to play fourth fiddle in the east with the Yankees and Red Sox annually outspending everyone, and the Rays leading the league in how to run a franchise. Right when the Yankees and Red Sox are more vulnerable than they have been in the last decade, the Blue Jays apply the pressure.

Credit where credit is do... the Blue Jays are a vastly improved squad. They have gone from being mediocre to a team that should challenge for the AL East in under a week. Impressive stuff.
HOWEVER, I don't understand the Melky signing... the Blue Jays literally justed traded away a player notoriously known for being a clubhouse cancer (Yunel), then replaced him with someone known to be an even bigger clubhouse cancer. Forgive the drug pun here, but chemistry goes a long way --- and both Yunel and Melky have proved many times over that they offer very little of that.

"Monday, 9:05pm: A's GM Billy Beane met with Marlins officials today, hears MLB.com's Jane Lee. However, Lee does not know if the meeting involved Escobar."
Here's to hoping that the meeting involved STANTON!!!

So the M's are pretty much throwing their hat in the ring with every player on the board right now. A couple of guys I am not super familiar with and was curious on the thoughts of you all.
1) Dee Gordon 2) Michael Bourn
Any thoughts?

Dee Gordon: May be the fastest guy in baseball. His problem, if he gets his glove on the ball, he has a hard time throwing it to first. He's young and inexpensive, so if he ever Dr. Garbanzoured out how to actually play SS, he would have a lot of value.
Michael Bourn: Speedster who strikes out way too much. He's one of the biggest free agents out there, so it will take a lot of money to get him. He's a bad contract waiting to happen, so he's a perfect fit for the Mariners.

Haha, for real. I was looking at the people they are talking about linked to the M's and pulling my hair out today. Some of the names included Mike Morse, Shin Soo Choo and Asdrubal Cabrera. Those dudes were all pretty much given away by us within the past 5 years.

I can't wait to see how much they are paying him. If it's over 2 million, I'm going to be on the floor laughing.

Expected to be less than 1M. However, please feel free to go ahead and roll around laughing anyway.
Looks like the guy they overpay this time around could be Nick Swisher.

Bay's contract is $1 million, half of which is guaranteed. It's surprising he landed a major league deal, but I guess Cleveland wanted him too, so the Mariners probably had to guarantee him $500,000 to get him there. Still funny, but I was hoping it would be Dr. Garbanzogins Funny.
Mariners are looking at Josh Hamilton for three years. Too bad, I was really hoping they would be the typical Mariners, and offer him five years. A three year deal might not be too bad for them. Five years would be Dr. Garbanzogins Funny.
Slusser hears the A's are close to signing Stephen Drew to a one year deal with a player option for 2014. That would be outstanding.
