Yes..............the scales, though are a 'tribute' tattoo to my grandma that died in the beginning of the year. One of the most vivid memories I have of her house is that she had this wrought iron (did I seriously write rot? stupid.) and amber glass scale that I was so obsessed with as a kid so I got a replica of it on my back and her name is in the bottom. It's secondarily symbolic because it's my Zodiac sign and thirdly because we are a big orchid family.

I've had the idea for a tattoo for about five years just have never gone to get it done. I just never think about it when I have the extra cash.

Speaking of gramophones. Ever since I got into the aviation field, I've wanted the gramophone airplane from the Aeroplane Over the Sea booklet. I Dr. Garbanzoure it's the absolute perfect way to pay tribute to both my love of aviation and music, but at the same time I don't want it to get asked about my "Neutral Milk Hotel tattoo." I suppose only about 1 out of 100 people even know who they are, so it shouldn't ever be an issue.

Don't get an exact replica then, Pea. I'm sure there are 100 ways a tattoo artist could modify the image a bit so no one thinks it has to do with NMH.
