Is anyone watching House of Cards on Netflix?

Absolutely I have. I'm through the first three episodes, planning on getting through at least three more this weekend.

I've really enjoyed it thus far, due in no small part to Kevin Spacey's performance. I'm guessing they aren't for some people, but his soliloquies are one of my favorite things about the show. Looking forward to seeing where it ends up going.

Your thoughts?

I'm liking it, I have about four episodes left. Sometimes it's boring. I like Kevin Spacey's accent and I want to bone Robin Wright.

Man, I was going to say something about Kate Mara's bottom in that white dress. Guess I will now. Although I think Peter Russo's chick from Cabin in the Woods takes the cake.

What do you think of the Netflix model of releasing huge chunks at a time? On a shallow level, I think its awesome, but I've been reading some articles about how if it becomes the norm eventually, it could eliminate some of the things that are almost a given in weekly episodic television. I think its a really interesting thing and it'll take a while to shake out. For now I'll just thank the gods that I'll have seven hours of new Arrested Development to watch in three months.

Just finished House of Cards. I like the Netflix model. Just give me everything. Cliffhangers are dumb.I'm tempted to skip new Walking Dead episodes until the season is over.

Is anyone besides me watching Enlightened? It's made a pretty solid case for being one of the best shows on TV these last few weeks. Tonight's episode was heartbreaking and uplifting in all of the right ways.

Walking Dead is so stupid. So fucking stupid. Such a worthless fucking show. I finally cancelled my DVR for that piece of shit show.

Girls was pretty stupid as well tonight. That episode had nothing to do with anything except for pointless naked Hanna sex with Nite Owl from Watchmen.

Shameless was probably awesome. It always is. I'll watch it tomorrow, though.

Girls is my favorite. I thought last night's episode was amazing. Full-on Woody Allen mode.

I thought it distracted from the rest of the season so far. Just seemed too out of place.

I really liked last night's Girls episode. They still let Hannah act like a terrible human a few times but I thought it allowed us in a lot more than most episodes of Girls usually do.

But guys...Enlightened last night...It's Mike White! What more do you need?

I thought it was Lena Dunham trying (and failing) way too hard to be Woody Allen. I enjoy most of the episodes, though.

HG is too in love with Lena Dunham to have any criticisms.

I did like the episode. I don't know that it was my favorite but I also want to see how it fits into the larger season.

When it comes right down to it, I look forward to Girls every week and don't personally have anything against her. However, I'm going to play Devil's Advocate for a moment here.

Lena Dunham is currently being hailed as the "voice of a generation", "a rare literary talent", "a new face of the modern feminist movement" and so on. She's getting 3.5 million bucks to produce a 66 page book called Not That Kind of Girl: Advice by Lena Dunham (yes 66 pages, so like $56,000 a page). The book details everything she's learned in her compelling 26 years of life as a daughter of two very wealthy parents, born and raised in uptown New York City, who attended private school and "poetry camp", who grew up with bulters, maids, chofers and the like. Sounds like a life chalk-full of important lessons. Yes, Lena, please impart all of your invaluable wisdom. Good grief, this chick probably doesn't even know how to run a washing machine. So, does she make me laugh with her stark awkwardness and exploration of feminine insecurties? Yes, sure. Should she be spoken of in the same vein as Woody Allen? No, never.
