The question, I suppose, is why? Is this a Canadian thing?

I drink and smoke weed to help me deal with the horror and tedium of my daily life. You can call it a crutch, man, but crutches help people walk.

I don't think it's a Canadian thing or even an anybody other than me thing. More a "prove to myself that I can do it" thing. Also health. Plus then I can drink for six more months without guilt. I'm kind of a guilt monger.

For me I did "Sober September", but that quickly got switched to "30 in 30", because.. really... you're still sober after one beer, or two.. right? But because I have 8 more drinks i can drink this month.. I may ruin Sober September (but still accomplish 30 in 30).

I clearly ascribe to harm reduction rather than abstinence based therapies.

Me too weenie. But I also did my undergrad research on alcoholism in women... so.... like... I know that my behaviours aren't THAT bad... (or I know when they definitely are).
