New page, thank god. I can't stand it when a pic messes up the page formatting.

Put THAT in yo BrassTAQ.

First time Sasquatcher, super stoked. A few questions:

-How prevalent/accepted is drug use? Is it okay to just toke up out in the open (campgrounds and inside the venue)?

-Do most people stay sitting for performances? I've heard mention of bringing chairs and saving spots on the rocks but I prefer to get close to the stage and dance.

-Should I get to the venue right when it opens or is it okay to take my time if a band I'm interested in won't be playing for a while?

Thanks, everyone!

Drug use is rampant at Sasquatch; as long as you maintain your shit, you won't be hassled too much. Of course be careful when the yellowshirts are in the vicinity because you never know who is going to have a bug up their butt, but traditionally they are much more concerned with enforcing alcohol.

No lawn chairs. The 'rocks' is a very small area between the hill and the pit by the mainstage; you can be wherever you want for whichever set, depending on your mood. Mass dance parties are becoming tradition, regardless of where you are sitting or standing.

I usually don't enter the venue until three or four o'clock, but then again I don't like to listen to music that was written four weeks ago on an iMac from 1999 by a kid who only did it because his mom grounded him for smoking clove cigarettes and he was bored (which incidentlally is more than half of the lineup this year). So, yeah, you can enter the venue whenever you want. Remember there's no re-entry.

They will let you bring in one of these:

which is what I bring in for sitting on the rocks area. It's pretty nice.

And I always catch all the shows from 12-12, because it's usually my only chance to see any of these bands, but you can do whatever you want.

That's a bummer, because you've missed some of my favorite sets over the years. Beirut, 65daysofstatic, The Gaslight Anthem, Mad Rad, The Long Winters...

Oh, and I believe that Santigold's 2009 set started before 3. Too bad you missed out on this, I guess...

I was there for Beirut and Santigold. My point is I just don't get in a hurry because it's fucking exhausting sitting through so many shitty bands.

Someone add to the first post that if you bring babies to Sasquatch then you are a bad parent.

The BrassTAQ is not a parenting guide.

Also, we're getting a lot more new threads started asking simple questions, sometimes questions that have been asked multiple times. In other words, that is what this thread is for, so I'm going to start locking the simple question threads, and directing them here. It's pretty clear a lot of newbs are not noticing this Q&A/Tips thread that just so happens to be stickied.

Can someone who knows the 411 on the camera situations post a Q & A I can link to the first post. It's a question that is asked several times each year. There are probably four different camera threads already.

AND QUIT ASKING ABOUT DRUGS. There are children, and parents of children on these boards.

Does anyone know yet how single tickets are handled? Do we still get some sort of a wristband? Or will it be just like other years?
