I've got a bunch of questions on Sasquatch and how I can go about having the most fun! The Sasquatch Site is down right now and I'm super excited so I just gotta ask these things now!
(I decided to post in "General Board" because the questions apply to everything)
This is my first Sasquatch Fesitval and I am super excited, but I need to know a couple of things before I head on over!
-How does the camping work with sites. Is it a giant feild and everyone parks their car next to their area they claim or is there a seperate parking lot to park and then a big field to camp in with everyone? Or is it like actual campsites? also is the Premier Camping thing worth it?
-My understanding is that the camping area and the Concert area are seperate and certain rules apply to the concert area (ie. food, alcohol etc) Is that correct? Or does the alcohol and food rule apply to everywhere onsite? also is the VIP parking worth it?
-What onsite amenities are there? Obviously washrooms and a general store are going to be there, but are there showers, a bunch of food cart things and the such? I bet there is a link for this question but I couldn't find it!
-Are there anythings that are not allowed in the campsite (save from the obvious like weapons, fireworks, drugs and all the fun stuff haha) like speakers, guitars, snacks etc.
-and finally any tips you guys have discovered that are super useful? What to bring, where to camp, who to avoid, when to start drink etc haha
any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,

Answers : You park where you camp. If you are camping you have no need for VIP Parking. I would say you should camp in general especially if it's your first time. I have never done anything different and this will be my 4th year.
The camping and concert areas are seperate. You may not bring any sealed bottles other than one water bottle into the venue during the day. Any food must be in clear plastic bags.
In the camping area you may eat, drink and be merry if you are over the age of 21 (or discreet). No open fires but grills are ok.
Last year they had some food vendors in the camping area, both authorized and unauthorized. There are cold free showers, or hot pay showers.
Speakers, guitars etc. are all fair game but quiet time is supposed to be observed from 2AM-8AM daily.
OTHER THAN THAT DRINK YOUR FUCKING FACE OFF AND HAVE A GOOD TIME!

The camping and regular parking are different as stated above, if you just drive in each day theres a normal parking lot for just parking and a VIP lot thats supposed to quicker in and out.

awesome! that map is sweet!
For the concert area I bet you can buy over priced booze, so how do you guys go about avoiding paying out your ass for a small buzz?
I'm thinking pre-drink, and somehow smuggle something into the concert area and just hope for the best?
also what time do the shows usually start and what time do the shows usually shut down for the night?

We have devised a way to bring sealed water bottles full of vodka in with us. It works fantastically well, but I'm not revealing the secret here.
Doors at 3PM friday and 11AM the other days. Shows go til 12:30 ish...

If you bring a backpack with like a hoodie inside of it and roll stuff up inside of the hoodie you should be able to get stuff through. They usually will not reach into your bag and if they do I have never had them pull anything out. They just pat around the bag on the outside feeling for anything hard, I've never had an issue bringing in beverages like this.

Just so I'm not making you look bad, I moved the new Brasstaq thread into this thread. This is where newbs should ask new questions, and I'll update the first post with the answers.
Regulars, this was supposed to be a collaborative effort by the board, so if you're sick of hearing the same questions asked over and over, post the question and answer here, and I'll put it in the first post.

We should start telling everyone that asks that Premier camping is worth the extra money, and then they'll be behind their security and short 160 dollars.

Great answers, Fox. I just want to clarify one thing (in the quoted text.) The rule for bringing drinkable liquids into the festival is that you can't bring any EXCEPT personal size water bottles that are factory sealed. This means no cartons of juice, no pony kegs of Heineken, no cans of Coke Zero, and if you bring a Nalgene they'll make you dump it out before you enter. You can bring however many factory sealed water bottles (eg. Arrowhead) you want. "Personal size" is very ambiguous, but I bring 500mL bottles to avoid potential problems. That being said, I've seen some bag-checkers allow factory sealed juice/soda in before. It's luck of the draw. If you're bringing a bag in I definitely advise packing more than 1 bottle of water though. They have filling stations inside, but you don't want to spend all your time traveling between them, and you DO NOT want to become dehydrated.

Huh, I was almost positive there was a limit of one factory sealed water bottle. Thanks for the info. That means I can bring more vodka this year!

This is what jumped out at me on first glance. Then I looked at it again, and the sentence still worked as if to say you had a certain amount of time traveling you could do.... If only 'twere so.

One million times this.
You will only survive for the whole weekend and be happy and comfortable if you are well hydrated. It gets warm during the day and you don't really realize the sheer amount of walking you do, let alone alcohol or other substances.

Emphasis on "other substances." We were dumb and brought NO water to the deadmau5 set last year. My mouth was a sand trap.
