This thread, while aggravating at times, is worth the read. It's like reading a timeline of word filters.

Anyone know if you need a permit to sell food in the campground? I've always seen people with stands set up selling food/drink and I have a buddy who is gonna try to do that this year.

Technically you need a permit. I think if you are selling and you don't have one they will just ask you to stop.

OK thanks. Wonder how much they are checking that.. Guess a permit might be worth it if it didn't cost too much and covered all the days.

Then there's those dudes we met in '10 who were selling breakfast burritos right on the main path; yellowshirts asked 'em to stop, and when they didn't they straight got thrown out of the campground.

My advice is to not push your luck.

Girlfriend and I were selling Jell-O shots in the afternoon on a couple of the days. Yellowshirts came by and asked about them and we said we were giving them away for free. We gave them a couple and they went along on their merry way. Honeybucket guys traded some honeybucket t-shirts for some as well.

Isn't there some ridiculous loophole about "suggesting donations" for vending food (instead of setting a sale price) that lets you sort of avoid the regulations? Or am I completely off my rocker, as usual?

No, you're right. Right next to my tent in '10, there was these egg farmers from Oregon that cooked breakfast for "suggested donations" and they never had a problem.

It's a damn shame that dudes had to be thrown out for providing the ultimate service to humankind.

I know this goes without saying, but I'm going to require immediate notification this year upon sight of these men.

Is Lumps officially going? Who all is officially going? I feel like I missed all of the confirmations. And everybody is going to the Chella. Give me some answers please.

Yeah man, Lumps is in. Newjersey is in, too. In fact, I think EVERYONE is in except for Cat, Stamper and Fox. Now we just need to convince Cat, Stamper and Fox.
