We're testing your fortitude, junta. Word to the wise: if you see any hooks around here, do not bite them or you WILL be reeled in.

You paid $185 for one less day + let's say $25 each for camping if you had a car of 4.... that's $70/day

This year is 4 days and let's take the average which is $290... that's $72.50/day.

I guarantee you it's not going to be a full day on Friday like it is on Saturday or Sunday (Monday isn’t even really a full day). It’s a Friday “Event,” so there will probably only be a few bands playing. You can’t really divide the total cost by the number of days - it’s misleading.

In 2006, the Friday was also not a full day. The ticket was still the same price as the other 2 days.

Who's bitching and moaning? I merely pointed out that not every day should not have an equal valuation.

Who said you were bitching and moaning? Sensitive, much?

I'm thinking that later packages will allow us to buy tickets without paying for camping. Barring that, fuck it, I'll buy tickets for individual days.

I advise against that. Last year I bought one three-day pass and then bought another set of tickets one at a time a couple weeks apart. Service charges for the three-day pass included the full amount of a standard ticket from Ticketmaster x3, and then the service charges for the individual tickets were the same as the three day pass. I ended up paying almost eighty dollars in service charges for six tickets. Better to pay for camping and not use it at that point.

Thought I'd throw this up here (it's from the TicketBastard site):

"This year your Sasquatch Festival ticket is an all inclusive ticket. No fees are added on top (except for special delivery choices), ticket holders will have access to general camping and parking with no additional cost. However there will be an extra charge should you wish to upgrade to Premier Camping or VIP Parking.
If you purchase the 4 day festival ticket, you will receive just one ticket that will be good for all 4 days. Keep your ticket in a safe place, tickets cannot be replaced.
Remember to take your ticket with you to the Festival; if you forget or lose your tickets the Gorge Box Office will not be able to reissue tickets.
When you arrive at the venue 4-day ticketholders will be required to exchange their ticket for a 4-day wristband Wristbands are non-transferable, non-exchangeable and cannot be replaced. They cannot be removed and must be worn all four days to allow entry. Do not remove, stretch or tamper with your wristband in any way or you will not be allowed entry."

Wristbands, finally! No more worrying about losing your other day passes or having them stolen. No more bringing the wrong one with you to the entry gate! Also, if they're high enough quality we can totally wear them for years and years until one wrist becomes so much heavier than the other that we develop back problems! YES!

It is unfortunate that they changed the ticketing options this year - not everyone wants to camp (tailgate) in the Gorge parking lot. I have camped across the river for years - where there are free showers, bathrooms, trees, fire pits, BBQs and you get the same amount of space that they cram 6 cars into at the Gorge.

Has anyone heard if they will be offering non-camping ticket options sometime in 2011?

The idea is that there ARE no camping passes, I think. My impression is that it is to keep people out of the campgrounds who aren't there for the festival. You buy your pass, you get access to the festival and access to the campground (and hopefully re-entry?). This way makes the cost of camping pretty negligible, actually, and at least seems like an attempt to reduce the over-crowding in the campgrounds that happened the last couple years.

And they have said that all ticket prices are 'all inclusive', so the short answer to your question is No.

Post of the day. I couldn't quite put all that into words but you summed up exactly what I was thinking.

Oh sherri!

You camp across the river? Driving + camping seems like the worst possible combination. I'm sure it's lovely over there, but if you're going to go through the hassle of driving you might as well have a proper roof over your head. That is, unless you swam across the mighty Columbia. That sounds pretty epic!

It looks like they aren't releasing any festival only passes yet, but I'd count on them doing so at some point. Probably around full line-up announcement time. That would be pretty low if they made everyone shell out for Gorge camping no matter where they were staying. Plus, I fear they'd piss I8 off so badly that he'd shove his keyboard up Adam Zack's ass long-ways.

Quote:
Beginning Monday 2/14/11 at 10am: FOUR DAY passes increase to $295, single day tickets to any four days will be available for $79.50 (again, all prices all inclusive). These prices run (if still available) until midnight May 26th.

Beginning Friday May 27, single day ticket price goes to $89.50 for each day (no more 4 day passes available). Again, price is all inclusive.

I think this is pretty clear.

Also it's nice to see that that when the price of four day passes DOES go up, it's only by ten bucks.
