What kind of beer do they sell inside?

If I remember correctly they were selling those giant cans of Coors for 8 bucks last year, right? Can't remember what else or if it changes every year. The reason I ask is cause I Dr. Garbanzoured it would be smart to buy the exact same beer from a store and then sneak it inside the festival. That way I can walk around drinking my smuggled hooch without a care in the world and security will be none the wiser. Pretty smart, right? (I'm sure I'm not the first one to think of this)

seems to me the smart plan would be to suck it up for the first day and head to town the 2nd day when you know what you're dealing with.

When I was there in 2008 they were selling tall boys of PBR and Heineken...well, those were the only ones I would drink anyways.

Indeed. In the past they've sold 20oz cans of Coors + Coors Lite, and that caliber stuff. Maybe Bud and Miller too, but it's all the same to me. They've also had 16oz cans of import beers like Heineken. These all cost around 8-9 bucks each. Ridiculous. Since I've always brought my own booze in, the only reason to buy them was to cool down when the heat was unbearable. It looks like we won't have that problem this year so I say just sneak stuff in. OH NOS I JINX IT AGAIN!

If you're going to go to all the trouble of sneaking in beer, at least sneak in something better than the bullshit they sell inside. Give yourself that.

Also, getting drunk in the sun for twelve hours sucks ass. Just walk around asking friendly looking hippies if you can have a bite of their falafel until you find one with a little magic inside.

As much as I have a drinking problem, even I hate trying to get wasted at 3 p.m. at the Gorge. I like to wake up, get a buzz going by 10, sober up after a bit, and then drink some more when the day is done.

it was scarily easy to bring in alcohol. I accidently snuck in two beers on sunday (i forgot they were in my bag). I snuck in six beers on monday. I didn't even really want all of them.

Yeah, most of the people checking bags were pretty cool about half-assing it and therefore letting things slip by. Those "beverage enforcement" people kinda bugged me though.

If memory serves, the beers sold in 2010:

PBR, Molson, Corona and maybe Miller Light or Bud Light - and all were sold between $9 - $12.00

in short... shit beer, and seriously overpriced.

The 12 buck Molsons were a good way to see which people werent Canadian (or smart).

I just brought in ziplock bags of whiskey that i put in random pockets of my rainjacket, which was in my backpack. Worked like a charm.
