| | SasqCraft Beer Swap 2010 « Thread Started on Apr 28, 2010, 4:52am » | |
Judging from the commentary on other threads, there are certainly more than a few festival heads who also enjoy a well made beer. In previous years, I have made a little detour into Seattle to pick up some bottles I would be hard pressed to find in Vancouver to take to our campsite. This year I will do my shopping at home and pack an assortment of celebrated B.C. craft beers to hopefully share:
Are any of you Washington, Oregon, Alberta, Cali, Colorado...campers planning on doing the same? Perhaps we can meet somewhere at a certain time and each collect some delicious souvenirs.
*** EVENT UPDATE ***
What: Craft Beer Swap 2010: bring a few special brews from your hood, and trade up! When: Saturday May 29, 2010 Where: outside VIP camping main entrance (look for flag) Time: noon-1pm
*yes! drinking is involved.

if i wasn't worried about crossing the border with homemade alcohol I'd gladly bring along some homebrewed cider.
Alas, I'll probably just bring some Grasshopper or Alley Kat.

^the border concern is understandable, but you bring up a good point...no shame on bringing a well made cider to the swap!

Shall I bring some South Carolina beer? (And anybody know for sure whether it's permit-able to check beer on a flight?)

This is a great idea! I'll certainly bring some beers along for a trade. Maybe something from Iron Horse Brewery in Ellensburg? Their "High-Five Hef" is great.

Shouldn't be an issue as long as you are checking the bag... You might want to bubble wrap that shit though!

the upside to craft beer is the (usual) higher alcohol content, which means less to carry in my cooler, but there is something about drinking really cheap, nostalgic beer in the sun that makes me so very happy lol

No hate on the cheap nostalgic beer - it has its place - still, there are no doubt lots of craft heads that are attending this fest. Let us know if you plan on bringing some local favorites.
SoCar, EllensBee... bring it!

maybe i'll just load up the cooler with Pilsner and call it a day. Worst case scenario, nobody wants it and I drink my favorite camping beer all weekend.
