Also: the inane bullshit and inside jokes are the primary reason for this board to exist. Unless and until this board is officially recognized and/or subsidized, I propose that we all stop pretending that isn't the case.

You realize the post you just linked to was posted in 2008, right? I assumed that changes might have occurred between then and now. I spent 5 days lurking on this board and reading through it before I posted. More than anything else I wanted advice from people who are regulars at the festival and what advice they could give from their personal experiences. Thanks to those that replied, I really appreciate your insights.

Take this thread, it's 72 pages long, and many of those pages are the same people replying back and forth with short replies and inside jokes that really don't do ANYTHING to address specific questions. It's not exactly easy to dig through each of these threads. So yeah, I DID read through the board and YES, I still had a few questions that I either needed answered, or wanted more information on.

I assumed this would be a good place to ask.

Fuck me, right?

I realize that none of you work for Sasquatch, and that you've been here as a community for a long time. I appreciate the info you've accumulated and I do respect the work it takes to keep something like this going.

In a semi-related note, the Sasquatch site, and ticket purchase made no mention of a limit of wristbands for Premium camping this year (see...I HAVE read through the board). I know it has been stated that it's limited to 4 people per car in previous years, but I'm guessing the lack of limits mentioned this year means that it will apply to everyone in the car. At least, that's my hope since we'll have 5.

Odd that no limit is mentioned; thanks for pointing that out. I wouldn't be surprised to see them still try to limit it to 4, but many MANY people have gotten 5 wristbands in the past when the rule was clearly listed so I'm sure you'll be alright.

Locking one of the higher profile FAQ threads is going to have the opposite effect of discouraging people from starting more new ones. Both of these threads were already here and here we are anyway.

I'm a realist, and as such I acknowledge that attempts to contain the inherent nature of an internet forum are eminently useless.

There is a glass. There is an amount of water in the glass. This is my reality.

So I read through this whole thread and a few of the other newbie threads and I have a few questions.

Is it a pain in the ass to set up your tent in the dark? Whenever I have done Roo we wind up setting up camp sometime between midnight and 5 am. It's not that big of a hassle though because there are big lights set up in the fields and everyone has their headlights on.

I ask because I am flying to Sacramento then driving with a friend so we need to plan the drive (which affects what flight I book). Currently we are planning on leaving Sacramento early in the morning Thursday, setting up camp Thursday night and hitting the ground running Friday morning.

Also, in older posts people commented that the festival was poorly organized. Is that still true? Will we have to plan on massive lines everywhere for every little thing? Again, I have done Bonnaroo the last four years along with other smaller fests so I am realistic about waiting in line for stuff at a music festival.

Yeah, it's generally pretty dark in the campground and setting up your tent in the dark can be a supreme pain in the ass.

And organization? Ha. We only use the word 'organization' in regards to Sasquatch to indicate what is missing. It's not organized at all. We literally stood in line for three hours last year to get our wristbands from one of two tables handing them out. I didn't even lay eyes on a paper schedule until Monday. It's a fucking joke. So yeah, bring sunscreen and a satchel full of beer wherever you go.

I've never really had an issue with the lineups at Sasquatch, other than trying to actually get in to the festival daily. Even then, I have a work-around in place for that. The only major issues have been the wristband lineups and those have been addressed this year with them mailing them out.

In terms of the car line to enter the festival, it's a long line but not Coachella long, and from my understanding nothing like waiting for hours upon hours upon hours to enter Bonnaroo.
