Ah, ok, I'm not sure why I thought it was going to be different than the other fests.
We went ahead and got general camping tickets.
Anyone know anything about the wristbands that were used last year? Or do they even use wristbands? |
|
Last year I saw a lot of the bands walking around with cloth wristbands, so the cloth wristbands may be used as backstage passes. |
|
cloth wristbands are also used for the VIP package.

I have to cross the border to get there unfortunately so I don't wanna risk bringing my weed and getting caught. I hate to be "that guy" but I was just wondering what the chances are that people will be willing to sell me some??? I heard its in abundance...

Sorry if this is a repeat, but I don't feel like reading through all 6 pages. Has anyone done the VIP package and was it worth it? I've gone VIP at Bonnaroo and 10KLF and it was worth it, just wondering if I spent my money well.
Thanks.

It's really varies per person. This year, they've done away with the food (it's extra) and have a weird clause in the package that you can be bounced from the VIP area if a band is in it already.
Last year, there were celebs mingling with us ordinary folks in the VIP without issue so I'm not sure why the change.
I purchased the VIP package in 2007 and 2008 and liked it.

i am making a long trip out from michigan for this year's festivities. i have been to lollapalooza a couple times and pitchfork festival once and never considered trying to take in a slr camera but i was wondering how hard they are on this there.
like, if i wanted to take my camera in with only the lens it had on it, would they still say "nay" to that?

i saw the security people harass at least a couple people about SLRs last year. they're normally a big no-no at any venue.

I have a Rebel Xti. I hope it's not banned. Maybe I'll put the lens in a separate place but it's really not a "professional camera". I hope I can bring it.
What happens if I can't? I have premier camping. Do I have to bring it back to the camp site?

How is security in this place? am I going to get busted if I smoke a J in the venue? will there be "vendors" in the campgrounds looking to get rid of "supplies"???

well if you have a premium campsite they won't really search you worth a damn, i saw plenty of people get liquor and various narcotics into the place last year. they do have some patrols inside the venue itself that go around but they mostly stay to the walkways unless they see something. there's plenty of places to light a J if you feel so inclined, just stay on the grass way on the far side of the hill and no one will bother you.

Hey whats up everybody. got some annoying newcomer questions to ask haha. first off ive never been to the sasquatch festival let alone a music festival. only individual concerts. i read they have a new dance tent this year and my favorite band is playing in it (Crystal Castles). So im guessing the tent is gen admission. So what time do u think i should be there to get close to the stage? and one more thing- how hard would it be to sneak alcohol in with a camelpack? Thanks.

I would recommend sorting that out with someone before you get there. If you find any for sale it will be expensive...

I don't think anyone knows how big the dance tent is, but I would bet a lot of money that if you want to make sure you see the Crystal Castles, you will have to show up an hour early, and expect to spend most of that hour waiting in line. One in, one out.
If it happens to be raining, that tent is going to be even more popular. Show up around noon to guarantee entrance.

Hello People!
I'm a Sasquatch noob! I have read through his whole thread, and just wanted to say thanks for all the great info!!! Just one question.... What is the lineup like getting in on Friday at noon? We're traveling from Calgary Canada after work thursday, gonna drive as far as possible and crash in a hotel for the remainder of the evening. Should we try and be there at like 10am to get a decent spot in line, or wait till early afternoon when the line has died down... will we still get a decent camping spot?
I think that's all I have for now... thanks
