Where is the campsite in relation to the general main stage area? i havent seen any pictures showing a campsite. Does it make sense to keep alcoho in the car and go in and out of the festival for it throughout the day?

You're looking at a 20-50 minute walk each way from the festival grounds to your campsite depending on how far out you end up. You will have booze in your campground. There's no doubt about this, but you're probably not gonna make a few trips out there and back a day. Matter of fact, you may not even do it once.

As nice as re-entry is to have as an option, I'm really not sure how often it's going to be used.

I think it would be pretty nice not to have to lug the cold-weather gear around all day. I foresee at least one of us making the trip back for our pants at least once a day. Whoever does it will probably shotgun a couple beers but I think it'd be silly to go back for just that.

I'm going to get in right when the campground opens and be right near the front, as usual. The walk back is only like twenty minutes or so, and I will probably take advantage of re-entry every day. Every day of every Sasquatch ever I have had to haul around a huge backpack full of clothes and blankets and shit; if I have the option not to do that, I don't care how much walking I have to do.

That's why we always have someone go in early as the gates open, so we can bring in all our shit and keep it on a blanket on the terraced part of the hill all day. Basecamp. It's nice, except when it's your day to head over at 1015am to save the spot.

Has anyone considered that the lineups might be a whole lot longer later in the day with this re-entry deal? I usually go in around 2-3 and spend anywhere from 10-30 minutes in line. If everyone has the option to leave, there might be a mad dash back to the campground around 6 for clothes when there is a few less interesting acts on and then a big bottleneck trying to get back in after that. I'm assuming the searches will still be the same, so we could end up with 7000 people trying to get in right before the subheadliner.

I guess it really depends on how many people decide to use re-entry and when they decide to do it.

What's the earliest you've ever showed up? I know they say the campground opens at 5:00pm Thursday, but my brother is flying in late Wednesday night and ideally we would like to stock up on supplies and then head to the Gorge directly from the airport.

So, I see lots of references to theft scattered about the threads....is it really as bad as it sounds? I'm beginning to feel like I'll need to set up a mine field around my camp...

Yep. That's really all it takes. Put stuff in your car, make sure that it's out of view, and lock the door.

Also don't bring shit that you don't want stolen. Pretty much the only thing I bring to Sasquatch that's worth more than fifty dollars is my iPod, and that's fairly easy to hide. If you bring your laptop or your iPad or your grandmother's fine china to Sasquatch, you're doing it wrong.

I think the thing I worry about most is my passport. I triple lock that shit even in the gramma campground. (Also, we did have someone go through our tent at Wildhorse one time. All there was in there was bedding and dirty clothes though, but it was still creepy.)

Ummm... weren't we all about as far from the front as we could be last year? I feel like we got there early and got stuffed at the very back...

Whaa? I felt like we were pretty close, weren't we? We were maybe eight or nine minutes' walk from the general store, and from there it's a little more than ten minutes to the gates. The walk last year was a breeze.

2009, shit. We were right along the fence at the very back of the back pasture. Holy balls, now that was a walk.

That's just what we want them to think. Once they look away for even a second, all bets are off.
