Okay so this is our first time going to Sasquatch. My girl friend and I are driving in from Omaha. 26hrs- I know, ridiculous. I was hoping some seasoned vets could help answer a few questions.
1. I went to Coachella last year and had a blast. I was curious if they are anything alike in terms of camping and security?
2. What time should we show up? I assume the camping spots are first come first serve? Is it beneficial to show up early and get a good spot?
3. Would you recommend a canopy or something to lay on the ground like a tarp? What are the dimensions of the camping spots?
4. I notice people are talking a lot about bringing in beer- can you also bring in liquor? How hardcore are they about walking around with open containers?
5. What's the shower scene like? I was told by people who went last year that some campers bathed in the river.... is that true?
6. What types of things are offered from the venders? tapestrys and such?
7. Can you bring coolers into the venue?
8. Is it chaos leaving Tuesday morning?
9. Does anyone know any good camping (scenic) areas coming from Omaha, in Montana maybe?
10. is it worth it to bring yard games?

ATTN: FELLOW BOARD MEMBERS
If you answer each of those questions, you will be encouraging sloth. If, however, you join me in a hearty "Read the fucking thread you lazy ass," you will be Dr. Garbanzohting for standards around this board. DO THE RIGHT THING.

I really don't get it. When I went to my first Sasquatch (in '09) I wasn't even aware that there was a message board devoted to it. Nor did I even really use Facebook yet. You know what I did? I read the rules on the website, used some basic common sense, and drove my happy ass out there. Guess how many problems I ran into along the way? ZEEEERO. Now I get that there are some obscure and well thought out questions that people are going to have, but for God's sake, there is really no good excuse other than straight up laziness for some of the derp questions that get frantically asked in the days leading up to the fest.

Part of the fun of going to a festival for the first time IS the trial and error nature of it. You're going to learn a lot more by experience than by asking every question under the sun before making the trip out. Some things you just have to wing. YOU WILL BE OK.

Yard games. Yes, please bring yard games. Ladderball. I will beat you, but I'll be nice enough to share my beer with you to ease the pain.

It's on! I will find you sometime on Saturday by locating your flags and banners.
Or maybe Friday. We'll see how it goes.

Don't forget that you walked 15 miles uphill both ways in the snow to get there.

I don't know where to ask this so I'll ask it here. I got 4 day passes with VIP parking only thing is I can't make it on Friday anymore. If I show up Saturday in the morning do I still get VIP parking and if not may I get my money back? Sorry if I asked in the wrong thread.
