I was just looking into the VIP pass after seeing it mentioned here. Doesn't sound like you get much for your money.

I would have to agree. I was contemplating buying VIP tixs for this year (if the line up convinces me) and was looking at what all you get for the cash.....and I'm thinking: not much. But I wanted to see what others, who have had the VIP package in the past thought.

What are your opinions? Is it worth the dough?

There are a few things to consider. I understand that Coachella has done away with VIP food and are now making it an additional purchase. Not sure if Sasquatch is doing the same. But in 2007 the VIP food was hot and actually food with a difference between lunch and dinner. Whereas in 2008, it was lunch meat and vitamin water all day long. In 2009 maybe it'll be pretzels.

The VIP seating area is cool, it's directly center to the stage (next to the soundboard) and last year The Upright Citizen's Brigade guys sat there making a wee bit of starfucking possible. Lots of space to dance as needed. That was probably my favorite bit about VIP. I could go down to the masses when I wanted and if I needed to lounge, go back up to VIP.

You also get vouchers for gear, though the 2007 manbag was cooler than the 2008 backpack.

Premiere Camping is included obviously, not sure what the cost would be separately.

Is it really worth it? Probably not. But there's a certain coolness to it, especially if you're bringing a girl. In fact, except in 2 instances (ome of which the guys won VIP tickets from a Boston radio station), all the VIPers I met were couples.

how close is the premiere and general camping. I love the showers and shuttle, no I am not high maintenance or lazy, I just like the convenience. But I also love to party until the wee hours and last year that did not happen in premiere, which is what I expected. But I was thinking it would be fun to get all fucked up and go to general and socialize there. How easy would that be?

Are you asking if the premier camping is near the general? You didn't see the general camping last year? I guess there is that big fence separating premier from general, but they are right next to each other. Maybe I am not understanding your question.

We often wander around with pockets full of beers hanging out, finding people to party with, so sure, come join us in the general, party goes until 6am.

Sorry I didn't word that correctly. Yeah I was asking if it is pretty easy to get into general from the premiere. But it seems as if it is! Thanks!

Yeah...the VIP kind of fails to impress. I don't see any need for VIP at Sasquatch, unless they decide to offer edible food. I've never had trouble getting close to the stage, and the view from the rock face is just fine if I don't feel like being close.

Last year I met Brian Posehn, Carl Newman, and Zach Condon just walking around with my lowly GA ticket. And the year before I pooped into Craig Finn in the PBR line. That's one thing that's really nice about Sasquatch; it's so low-key that the artists are often roaming free amongst the common folk.

There was some strange wording in this year's VIP package, something about the VIP area may not be open if there are vands alread inside of it. Strangeeeee.

There's also a Platinum package. I don't remember if that package was available last year.

It kind of sounds like the VIP package is for losers.

So there's that to consider.

awesome, that's so much cheaper than the on-site camping (pretty much half price) plus it sounds much better. i reserved a site already.

does the proximity really matter when they have a free shuttle going to and from the gates? ;D
