 Split up 3 Day pass?
« Thread Started on Feb 19, 2010, 2:22pm »

Does anyone know if it's possible to split up a three day pass? I think I only want to go for two days but may end up wanting to go for three. If I decide to only do two can I sell the third day off or is the 3 day pass just one ticket that you reuse?

sell the 3 day pass and buy 2 individual tickets during the presale, save yourself $30.

if you can wait and sell the 3 day pass after the 21st you can probably turn a tidy profit on it too...

You'll receive 3 seperate tickets. Typically the most popular day has been Sunday, although this year might be Saturday. People are always selling tickets for all days, which means you might be able to buy tickets there. People are usually pretty good about selling extra tickets for face value. Last year Monday very clearly had the least attendance which means selling tickets for the third day could be a challenge.

last year scalpers were selling sat for about 100, sun for like 130 and then my guy bought a monday tix for 20 bucks....if you plan on selling your monday tixs do it early, by the time monday rolls around and people decide they want to leave there pretty useless.

I always wished they would do the big color tickets like some festival do for 3 day passes and you just keep it in a holder with a lanyard instead of just the plain ticketmaster and livenation generic tickets

It's not that the last day is Monday that makes those tickets less valuable, per se. Last year it was Erika Badu and Ben Harper closing the stage and I think people just didn't give a shit - I would have seen Gogol Bordello, Silversun Pickups, Fleet Foxes, Explosions in the Sky and bailed, skipping the headliners entirely - and I'm sure others had less diverse tastes and were less willing to part with cash in that regard. Given the lineup the other days I'm sure they attracted more of a mainstream alt-rock crowd, with KoL, YYY, NIN and Jane's Addiction

Have to agree with you there. For me Monday was well worth it for Grizzly Bear, Gogol Bordello, Fleet Foxes, Silversun Pickups, and EITS. This year it's looking even better with Japandroids, She & Him, Band of Horses, TNP and I still have tough decisions with so many time slots that day. For me the 10 hour drive means I am going to the whole festival, even if it means I have to take off Friday, Monday and Tuesday. It's worth it.
