 BBQ Question
« Thread Started on Apr 30, 2009, 1:36pm »

I know, this thread should go in the camping area... but nobody has responded.

Just curious if small charcoal grills are allowed, or would a small propane grill be my best and only option. First time and can't wait... just trying to get all the particulars hashed out.

Thanks!

last year my friend and I brought one. only used it once, because there wasn't much time we spent at the campsite. it was propane, and that would be the easiest way to go.

We did the same thing. We brought a mini-smoker-charcoal grill. It was cool, but you're at the concerts all day and don't have much time to use it. Mostly used it early, like 11am and once after midnight when we were starving after the shows. Kinda a pain, since you're limited on when you can use it. This year, we're leaving it behind and just doing cold pizza and sandwiches and snacks.
So to answer your question; yes you can bring either small grill for cooking, the Gorge is cool with it!
Happy Grilling!

Shoot, you can bring a large BBQ if you can fit it in your ride. The only rule is, "no open fires." So if you load up your grill with tons of lighter fluid at 2am, you might get a raised eye brow from the security, but it is still legal.

It is real easy borrowing grills for hotdogs during the daylight hours as well, meaning, throwing your dog on someone else's BBQ for 5 minutes. Everyone is cool there. The main campground party lasts well into the late afternoon, since some only go for the last three acts.
