I have never used StubHub. Can I expect prices to drop on there in time to make the festival, or is my only hope Craigslist?

Prices will drop on stubhub too, but not as much as they will on Craigslist.

This seems a bit too out of control.

I wouldn't be too worried about fake wristbands, but I'm totally willing to PM images of my wristband to any of you guys once I get it so you can have a reference to compare to.
I mean, yes, scams can happen, but I think there are a lot of signs and safeguards buyers can use beforehand to protect themselves. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. If the seller feels sketch before you even meet, they probably are. If the wristband is paper with "Sasquatch" scrawled across it in crayon, it might be fake.

Maybe when you guys get your wrist bands, you should share the specifics, so people know what to looks for. There has to be some code or something on them to make them counterfeit proof. |

There was a number on the bottom of the RFID chip last year, which I assume was a serial number that could be entered in if the chip failed somehow. You might be able to call ticketmaster with that number to check if it's real.
Coachella has been mailing wristbands for years and I have never heard of fake ones been sold on the secondary market. As long as you know what the wristbands look like I would say the chances of getting a fake are pretty much zero.

No point in trying to buy tickets now, unless its from something protected like Stubhub or paypal via Ebay. The festival just sold out and prices will be at their highest right now. In a month or so they're really going to drop and they'll drop even more once they start sending out the wristbands. I've seen/heard of a few fake wristbands from past Coachellas, but they were few and far between.

2010 there was a large batch of fake Coachella wristbands being sold in Indio. They were fabric and looked good, but the colors were a little off. When you put them next to a real one you could tell. People were showing up at the entrance and freaking when the realized they had been scammed.

My Coachella wristband is being hand-delivered by the mighty mighty Shaxspear so I know it's legit.
As for Sasquatch, I'm a little surprised that it sold out as quickly as it did, but I guess it's a sign of the times. For anyone that can afford it, I highly recommend buying next year's tickets during the pre-sale, knowing you can probably sell it for face or close to it if the lineup isn't to your liking (not likely) or you can't make it for some reason. I do this for a lot of shows (buy as early as possible, usually pre-sale, and rest assured I can sell it afterwards if it comes to that).

I've never seen this level of people freaking out about Sasquatch before. So glad I ordered my ticket and premier pass on Friday night and pressured my friends into doing it too before the general on-sale happened. I just had a strange feeling that a sellout was imminent even before seeing somebody post about almost 20k tickets being sold through Friday. This really makes me want to start buying my ticket in November from now on, even though it's absolutely the worst time of year for me to be spending hundreds of dollars. I truly hope all of you end up getting to go still and don't have to pay a huge premium over face value.
