I don't generally drink much once I get into the festival, but I'd rather drink a bucket of Old Crow and wither in the sun than watch the Presets.

Everyone does Sasquatch their own way. I never really sober up the entire weekend and don't leave the festival grounds until the last act I want to see for the day is done. Everyone has their limit, just do your best not to cross it.

And seriously, the thought of putting good scotch in beer makes me cringe.

How much of The Presets have you listened to, exactly? Or are you just generalizing an entire genre of music that you aren't a fan of?

Tell me that this isn't the very antithesis of Gramma music.

1.) That guy's voice makes me want to lobotomize myself.
2.) Sounds like they turned the treble knob all the way to the right and then broke it off.
3.) Generic drum machine, four note synth line, lazy repetitive build to simulate 'emotion'.
4.) NO INSTRUMENTS

How much of the Presets have I listened to? Not a lot. Two, three songs. How many of those songs made me put my head in my hands and despair while simultaneously resenting today's youth for their idiocy and lack of taste? All of them.

Well then fuck it dude. I was going to try to find some songs of theirs that I thought you might like but your complete disregard of respect reminds me it isn't worth my time.

Seriously, though. I said worse things about Gene Ween's solo record when it came out. You've known me long enough to know that I talk about music in absolute terms. And we've all known each other long enough that getting offended when our tastes don't intersect should be a thing of the past.

I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to the internet. Hugs.

I like Old Crow. Good stuff. Of course tonight I am finishing up a bottle of Strathisla.

I am sure it is somewhere here. (Seems I recall seeing it last year.) But drinking, though fun, can be a killer at these things.
Limited sleep. Hot sun. Exposure. Dancing. Sometimes nominal food. - All this taxes the body. Add on to this a few shots of vodka at the wrong time and you are toast.
There are always those people passed out cold at 3pm on the hill getting fried in the sun and missing great shows. Have your fun, but you don't really want to pay $330 for a ticket to be passed out while the Presets play.
And just because you can drink a pint of whiskey on Friday night at home, don't think you can do the same Saturday afternoon at the Gorge.
People end up missing whole days due to underestimating the impact of substances (alcohol and others).
It is a long four days. Enjoy them all.

(But seriously, a good shot or two of Islay Scotch added to Kokanee really hits the spot!)

I've never really been one to drink much at Sasquatch, but during that really hot festival in 2009 where it was 90+ degrees every day I was completely sober and almost passed out one of the days from heat exhaustion and dehydration. I'd imagine if I had been drinking alcohol, things might have ended badly that day. Proper hydration is crucial out there, you have to remind yourself that you're in a high desert environment where there's generally very low humidity and very high sun exposure. Since that episode I've had lots of water on hand every day, and even then I still get the burning, watering eyes from dehydration.

Just a warning to you folks, I've received a warning from a guy who works for the festival (backstage and transportation coordinator) and he said it's at almost 20,000 tickets sold already, even before the general sale begins. Buy your tickets soon, we're looking at an early sellout again this year.

That's crazy but not unexpected. They did have a pre-sale from late November until December 31st before this week so it's had over a month in total to get to that 20k mark. At that rate I'd expect a sellout in a couple weeks max.

How many tickets will they sell this year? 23,000? 24?

I see numbers like 23,500 capacity, but I also understand they are working to edge that up every way they can.
