I'm going to both, but I think Sasquatch overall is a better festival. It has just the right amount of mainstream and indie bands. I think Sasquatch is more geared toward the indie crowd. As for Pemberton, it's only strength is in its headliners.
Both festivals are in a great location! What are your thoughts ?

I disagree, I feel Sasquatch's strengths is in its open camping policy and venue.
Pemberton's strength is its diversity.

I would have to agree with that. I 'm goin to both also , however if they would of announced Pemberton before Sasquatch's tickets went on sale , I don't think I would of bought tickets for Sasquatch ( being that Pemberton is much closer for me). But I Dr. Garbanzoure this year go to both and then choose the better one next year.

I like Pemberton's lineup a little more as the top 6 acts could easily headline various festivals as opposed to Sasquatch which have 3 headliners and a good core of mid-tier acts. But the camping at Sasquatch is 1000 times better than Pemberton. The camping rules for Pemberton seem overboard. You can't even park your car in the parking lot unless you have 3 people in it. That plus no outside booze and having to park the car in a seperate area from the campsite just nixed that all together. I'll be renting a condo. Less hassle, more comfortable and no booze price gouging.
This will be an interesting 4 months for me. Coachella, Sasquatch AND Pemberton.

Pemberton seems like way too much of a pain in the arse to me with the camping and parking restrictions. Also the price in general seems out of whack for the lineup that seems to peeter out after a bit. And no outside swill is weak! I'll hit up Sasquatch and some of the smaller PNW festys.

the headliners are def better but i feel like the lineup ends right there. With Sasquatch I can get an entire day and night of good music and variety, at Pemberton I could only get it with the headliners

there are some non-headliners at pemberton that i really wish were at sasquatch, but i deplore all their headliners...they're completely not my thing. i guess its accurate to say that sasquatch! is just more indie, compared to all the radio bands at pemberton

Pemberton - geared toward mainstream music fans Sasquatch - geared toward indie fans (relatively)

at first when i saw the lineup for pemberton fest, i was pretty frustrated that i had already bought my sasquatch tickets, because pemberton is closer to home. But now that its kinda settled in, sasquatch appeals more to me. Sure, Pemberton has some fine headliners for some people; i only care for coldplay (and i even find that a little embarrassing). also, i wouldn't mind eventually seeing interpol (but they're kinda a "last year" band) and vampire weekend. oh, i really really hope mgmt are added to sasq!

I am going to both. Pemberton is only 2 hours away for me. And it has an amazing line up. How could I not?
I am also going to Coachella this year. And I might be going to Outside Lands festival. I am gonna be so broke at the end of the summer...

Because I'm not going to Sasquatch, I was thrilled to see the Pemberton lineup. It was by fluke that I found out about it too, haha.

A comparison of the middle tier bands between Sasquatch and Pemberton isn't even close in my opinion. I wish Sasquatch had My Morning Jacket but they tour enough I will just catch them again when they come through the Bay. Destroyer, Battles, Okkervil River, the Breeders, Beirut, Built to Spill, Yeasayer, and Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks are all must sees in my book. Also it is the first year for the Pemberton festival so I will let them work out the kinks this year and maybe make it up next year............unless Coachella actually gets some good headliners again.

Pemberton just got another notch better. Wolfmother was added today. Oh and Kathleen Edwards as well.
