I think Live Nation stepped it up in a big way. It was relatively organized, the sound and lights were good everywhere, everything was on time, security weren't douches (except once that I saw), and everything seemed completely better in every way. Except the Maine Stage, which was useless and served only to piss off all the comedians. I watched three comedians and they all complained about the noise from the Maine Stage. I say scrap it.

Agreed about the sound and lights, I think they did some serious upgrades. I went there hoping for lots of $4 beers but saw only one concession stand that actually offered them at that price. The rest of the alcohol options were obscenely overpriced as usual. It seems the food options were expanded, however the food was priced ridiculously as well. The only times I bought food inside the venue were to get an elephant ear (which are just awesome and worth the $6) and when I forgot to pack food for the day on Monday.

The Maine stage was a huge pissoff. I was near the front at Bigfoot for Cloud Cult and the bass from the rap happening over there was still infiltrating everything. Also it made for a very annoying overlap at the shade tent.

Where were the $4 beers and how big were they?

I managed to sneak in all my booze 2 out of 3 days, so I didn't really mind buying booze one of the days. And I have now gone two years without purchasing any food there.

Honestly the only time I noticed the Maine Stage was during Todd Barry's set, which was hilarious

They were fairly small glasses of Rolling Rock.

I think they were 12 ounces, and at some point they actually sold out of the $4 beers and were only offering ones for triple the price. My friend bought a $14 (or was it $16?) margarita for the hell of it and I just cringed.

If I remember correctly it was at a stand between Yeti and Bigfoot. My friends fell for the trap where they do an extremely light search through your bags on Friday and then ramp it up the rest of the weekend. They tried to sneak in 3 water bottles filled with vodka that were wrapped in a blanket and the security goon made them shake out their blanket and clothes to see if anything was hidden.

I'm still not convinced that there's any alcohol in those retarded margaritas.

I love that you could buy two 12-ounce beers for $8 or one 24-ounce beer for $11. MAKES SENSE.

I went with the $11 Buds. The extra $3 was worth the colder beer and the ability to not have to carry around that little cup which ended up getting hammered down in about two sips.

Was Pea in a sounders stocking cap on Monday night heading away from the Spiritualized set before it even began? If so, I guess I saw you too.

Speaking of "it's a wrap" and Sasquatch being over, I'm having the strong blast of "reality of real life"...with that weird face eating incident, someone committing suicide at UW and a shooting near when I lived in Seattle. :S

Anyone who missed St Vincent missed an amazing performance...and don't forget that Carrie was in Sleater Kinney...Wild Flag's set restored my faith after Portlandia...

Agreed.

Sorry Portlandia, I saw 7 of the 9 comedy acts this year, and Portlandia was my least favorite. I almost think the awkward not-funniness of it was part of their ironic point, but I sure couldn't tell.
