Why not? Believe it or not, that is not the first time I've seen a motorized cooler. I have seen one at EVERY livestock show I've ever been to. "Romie, you go to livestock shows?" Yes. Alpacas mostly.

Great idea. I have a few questions though.
In the video the cooler is only a speaker box. Judging by your pics it looks like you're going to split it into a cooler and speakerbox. How do you plan to seal off one compartment from another? I assume caulking and the cutting board, but I want to hear your plans.
Secondly, I need to know where your priorities are. Will the smaller compartment be for speakers or beer? Your answer to this question may or may not completely change my opinion of you.
Thirdly, watch that thing like a hawk, because some drunk asshat is definitely going to try to run away with it if you leave it unattended.
Love it though.

I will be using plastic weld and this clear compound rubber shit I picked up yesterday to seal the two sides.
Sadly, the smaller side will be for beer. The speakers, amp, battery, battery charger and all the wiring are going to take up a large amount of space.
I would love to see some drunk asshat try and pick this thing up while highly intoxicated, it will most likely weigh somewhere in the neighborhood of 80-100 lbs.

I guess the battery and charger would have to be pretty heavy duty in order to run the thing for any length of time. I didn't even consider the weight. It's understandable that the bigger side has to go to all the equipment in order for it to have any real potential for causing a ruckus, so I can deal with the smaller side being for beer (I'd bring a supplemental backpack cooler in this case though).
There's gotta be a way to make this thing lightweight though.

This guy at identity had a wheelchair with a huge speaker on it. He created the most awesome mobile party by wheeling it around the campground. We just wandered around the camp ground meeting awesome people and listening to awesome music. You should definitely put wheels some wheels on your cooler so you can do the same.

I think you should build/purchase a driving cooler and tow this one around with it.
They range in price from $160 (50W) to $1400 (2000W) on www.cruzincooler.com
