 VIP Superticket past experience?
« Thread Started on Feb 12, 2012, 4:18pm »

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone purchased a VIP superticket to one of the previous Sasquatch! concerts? Since "Is it worth it?" is a HIGHLY subjective question I'm mainly interesting in hearing from past VIP superticket holders. However if you have comments/thoughts on this topic I'd love to hear it.

I'm not sure anyone's asked the question before, and I'm fairly certain none of the regular posters have ever purchased one of these tickets. Maybe there's a lurker out there that can shed some light?

I'm not sure I know everything that is involved in the VIP Superticket but if you have the money to do it, why not?

A friend of a friend had VIP access last year. He brought me an ice cream bar during City and Color on Sunday, from somewhere in the VIP-only parts of the fest. That was the best ice cream bar I've ever had.

The ice cream truly is sweeter on the other side, and the grass greener.

I've never had VIP access before but I think that they don't check your bags so you should take advantage of that and sneak in hella booze

After last year's experience, if you can't sneak in enough booze for yourself, you're doing it wrong. Seriously. I had no issues sneaking in booze for 2-3 people in a rather small bag.

Any chance you could ping him and ask how the viewing areas were? That's the main thing I guess I'm really looking for.

I'll have to remember to try the ice cream bar if I buy the tix. :)

I'll fire off a message via the facebook. He was actually the guy who coordinated all of the band signings at Sasquatch 2011. So I'm not sure how much he had a chance to take advantage of watching sets from the VIP areas. I doubt it was very often. Nobody on the board besides mase (that I'm aware of) had VIP tickets, and I doubt you'll be able to raise mase on here.

I can tell you that the VIP areas send to be either adjacent to the sound booth or to the sides of the stages. The sound booth spots are a ways back from the stages, obviously, but the side areas are directly adjacent to the stages. I've never watched a set from the side, so don't know what it's worth.

VIP areas also have separate washrooms in some cases (the one to the north of the main stage did in 2011).

It's important to note that I don't think VIP tickets will get you into the main stage pit easier or into better position aside from the VIP areas. My personal opinion is they're not worth it, but that's for you to decide.

Also, As far as I remember, there's no VIP areas of value for the yeti stage or the dance tent (Banana Shack), so if those are important to you, you may be wasting your money.

In the past they actually have gotten you into the main pit when it was full. Last year was the first year that they haven't allowed that as far as I know. The viewing areas are ok but they also kind of change every year. The Wookie usually has some sort of viewing platform that you can go on but it's maybe 50 yards out. the main stage has a platform sidestage that you're allowed onto that gives a pretty cool view. The problem is that these things are usually kind of crowded so it's benefit isn't as amazing as you'd hope. It's worth it if you wanna jump around between stages and not have to wait for a good spot but otherwise they're a bit overpriced
