It would, but the trade-off there is in the links that head the different forums.
See up at the top of the screen where it says
Sasquatch! Music Festival :: Sasquatch Discussion :: General Board :: New Board Design! ?
Notice how you can barely read the words 'New Board Design' -- those words are white and, since they fall under the category of text, I can't change them without changing the color of the words we type. If I change the color of all links to white, then ALL of that information will blend in and become illegible.
The white on light blue is much harder to read than the dark blue on light blue, and it would also create a much bigger pain in the ass when trying to navigate the forum.

Having one line of text more visible shouldn't result in making posts less visible. What should be a priority here, making the board readable for regulars, or making a seldom used navigation tool easier to read for newbs? I'm not saying it's a deal breaker, but it's like reading a book where every 10th line of text is yellow. It's a minor annoyance multiplied times 5,000 and it's distracting.

Man we must have different contrast set up or something because I don't have any trouble with the dark blue on blue since it is mostly bolded and not the main text.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. The dark blue looks pretty sweet from my screen.
Anyway, giving it a shot in deference to Gunther.

I agree. Disregard my proposed color scheme now that Switch changed the 'Squatch's sky color, by the way.

Yeah that's doable. I'll leave it like that for now, see if it causes problems for anyone else.
RoRo, I haven't forgotten about your proposed template but I took time out of my homework schedule on Sunday to fuck with the layout and I've been pretty busy writing papers and taking care of a sick Stormy since then so I haven't had a chance to go in and apply your changes.
Trouble is it requires me to completely disassemble everything I've done and plug yours in instead, so that really comes down to me retooling the whole layout twice.

Yeah, I know. Proboards sucks for that - you can make multiple skins but can't change different ones to default has always been my issue. It's totally fine.

The forum is pretty fucking boss the way it is. We can use RoRoRoYourBoat's design in 3 years when we're sick of this one.

I'm surprised I'm the only one who had trouble reading blue font on a blue background. Aside from not being able to read it, font in general should be consistent. No one thought blue page number, white comma, blue page number, white period looked tacky, or how half of the title of quoted sigs was blue with the other half white? Name a website has multi-colored font lines that isn't intended for little kids?
You guys are free to change it back if you think it looks cool, but as far as visually calming goes, you just went from Skrillex to Gershwin.

I think it is too bright but it has grown on me. I'm not sure if visually calming was the intention.

So visually agitating was the intention?

That is what I was assuming on first glance but I will go with the majority's choice on this one.
