Hey

long time lurker, first time poster

I'm looking to buy a HD Pocket camcorder. One that is good for concerts obviously since I want to bring it to Sasquatch, so the microphone has to be good on it. Do any of you have a good camera you recommend, or know of a good one?

I don't know a whole lot about recording live shows, but I feel like it's more about placement than it is about the quality of the microphone. If you're too close to the speakers it's just really muddy bass; if you're too far away it's really tinny. I've never managed to find the sweet spot.

As for the camera, I don't really know. I've just been using my Canon S95 to record shows.

I use a canon vixia m41 and the colour is great. it is small enough to sneek in to concerts so I would recomend it. the battery life isnt great, but its cheaper compared to other brands.

I use a Kodak ZWeak Shit Superfan which seems to have been updated by the Kodak Playtouch. I also use a Sony ECM-DS70P external microphone. Super small and easy to carry, battery life is good and buying extra batteries and a car charger is super cheap.
