If there's one thing I fucking hate more than listening to snot-nosed idealists bitching about things being too 'corporate', it's people in their late twenties who bitch about things being too 'corporate' without being bothered to concern themselves with such rudimentary things as basic punctuation and spelling.

You could have typed one sentence, and that sentence sure as fuck wouldn't have needed its own brand new thread. "wil modest mouse be their next yer?" would have done just fine.

If you think you're going to find any music festival in the country that isn't going to offend your delicate bohemian sensibilities, then I hate to tell you this but you have a long lifetime of various disappointments ahead of you. Five fucking dollars says that in nine months you're going to be one of the assholes that starts asking how easy it is to sneak in to the Gorge Amphitheater. Just spare us, okay? Thanks.

For something in 'merika, try Burning Man, for something not to far from the US of A, try Shambhala. There are festivals out there that don't pander to corporate sponsorship, they do however pale in comparison to Sasquatch. I hope you can look past the fact that there are giant Honda, XBOX, Esurance and Redbull banners everywhere because generally, next to those posters lies a great band that you may or may not have known you love.

Anyone have a running tally on how many times the "if you dont like it, dont comment on it" defence has been used on gramma?

Also, nice. That one was subtle.

And, filtered! I think... Or just a really funny coincidence.

whether it's 3 in the afternoon or 3 in the morning, $5 for a 'taxi' ride is a great deal. those walks to/from the campsite can be super deadly in that heat/long night of partying

the fact that the taxi's where there was not a bad thing, i enjoyed them, and the drivers for the most part where cool as shit. this is my problem, we camped about 1.5 miles from centeroo, there was a open campsite that they closed down right next to centeroo and opened up ours way the fuck out there. i think they did this to cause us to have to pay the taxi and walk by all the extra venders. shit like that annoys me. the music was great. but i dont want to talk about roo, i want to hear you guys tell me how chill and awesome sasquatch is so i can sell my girl on dropping a few thousand next year to road trip it. i am pretty sure we will, unless modest mouse is playing somewhere else, i'm kind of on a mission to see them.

not exactly accurate. they've camped people way out there like that since long before they ever incorporated taxis at bonnaroo.

but yes, Sasquatch is great - and i enjoy it infinitely more than Bonnaroo, myself - but as HG pointed it out earlier... Sasquatch is sponsored by XBOX, Esurance & Honda - as well as Red Bull and PlayStation. While the bands who play Sasquatch tend to fall more on the indie side of things than they do at Bonnaroo, Coachella or Lollapalooza - Sasquatch is still ran by Livenation. Thus every concession - whether its beer, food or even water - will be incredibly overpriced.

You're going to have the exact same things to bitch about after Sasquatch except you'll have driven halfway across the country for it. If Bonnaroo was too hot for you, Sasquatch will undoubtedly be too cold. At Sasquatch, the only way you can get around the long walk to the venue is to pay an additional one hundred and fifty dollars to have access to the "Premier" campground, and there are parts of the campground where the walk to the venue is plenty more than 1.5 miles. At Sasquatch, there is no re-entry into the venue -- which means you are more or less forced to buy their food, their beer (the most expensive beer on the planet -- damn corporations, why do you like making money so much!?) and their clothing, if you fail to bring enough warm layers like most people do.

Basically, you sound to me like one of those cats that isn't capable of having a good time ANYWHERE, so as long as you're going to go to a music festival and hate it you might as well stay closer to home and save yourself the money as well as the trouble of your girlfriend hating you for convincing her things would be different next time.

If you're pissed about a $5 1.5 mile taxi ride, you're going to lose your shit when you have to walk 3 mile back to your campsite and you don't have the option of a taxi.

If you're poor, don't go to a concert festival. (unless you've got sweet friends)

Bitching about a festival being too corporate, but driving across the country burning fuel purchased at incredibly inflated prices from corporations is only a little bit ridiculous

Modest Mouse is signed to a label. That label is there to make money.

Go to Burning Man, but don't expect things like taxis, Modest Mouse, or any fucking pity from us if you're out-hippy'd by the hippies.

Alright HigherPrimate, since you are unaware that this message board has many, many, many threads that deal with this subject, I will enlighten your barely-better-than-bonobo-brain. Enjoy the read; you and your friend have 11 months to get through them and decide.

If his reading comprehension skills are anything like his spelling and grammar there's a good chance he won't be reading through any of those threads anyway. That was nice of you but I feel like you might have just wasted eight minutes.

I would gladly pay 5 dollars for a ride back to the campground every single night of every future Sasquatch I attend.

Shit, I would probably pay upwards of 15.
