First, let me say that Im drunk, and secondly that sounds fishy to me. All I can say is that if your cool with them, meaning the employees at the gorge including security guards, they are about 98% of the time cool with you unless it is a day that they are forced to search everyone more because some jackass decided to bring a knife in and got caught, which ruins the party for everyone.

Seriously! I have a significant experience raving, and the cops who come by don't give a shit about any of the high/drunk kids. They're way more concerned about the people supplying the high kids. That being said, you probably shouldn't be leaving your weed out in the open anyways, that's just careless. And for the people that got open container tickets: really?! several times on the walk security said dump it, you cant take that past here, you can get ticketed. People still did it.

that's always a BIG fear of mine. i remember one day leaving coachella at the end of the night while i was alone and on summin, just standing so far away from the entrance in this huge mass of people anticipating having to climb upon a structure to save myself from a riot. lion king shit right there

I got about a quarter's worth of bud taken from me and my friend by two fat beverage enforcement bitches right before K-OS' set. I had just enough time to grab the rest of my goodies before they made us empty our bags on site. Total buzzkill. Glad they didn't kick us out though.
I watched them sifting through the nugs as they were walking away. They only could have confiscated it to smoke it themselves.. Luckily, a woman and her husband sitting next to us watched the whole thing go down and they gave my friend and I each a handful of weed
May karma rain down on those beverage enforcement shitheads.

1st timer: an idea to ask your attorney about: when you go back for your court date, see if it could work to have a court-ordered hair/fingernail/spit test to prove that you don't do drugs. I don't know how much they'll care, honestly, but it could work? ASK YOUR ATTORNEY! It's just an idea, but really, I don't know much about the legal system at all. I have been told however that it would be advantageous to actually pay for an attorney rather than have an appointed one.
On friday, they went through literally EVERYTHING I owned. I felt pretty violated. Every other day was just a quick check and a wave thru. I guess it's better than what happens at festivals in the UK and Australia with dogs/detectors/etc.
Also, the beverage enforcers stopped my friends who were smoking a joint, took the joint away and stomped on it. Luckily my friend, screamingly drunk, shouts at the guy; "Technically your shirt says BEVERAGE enforcement!!"

1st timer, if you are actually charged with a crime, disregard this advice. Spirulina means well, but try to understand the following: If you have been charged with a crime, the only person whose legal advice you should be seriously considering is your attorney.

Yeah, It was just an idea to mention to your attorney, not something to seriously consider offering by yourself in court.--I'm not offering legal advice in any way, I'm just trying to think of how I can help generate ideas for you :\ I hate to see someone in trouble, especially for things that they didn't do.
i am not an attorney, and I have no knowledge of the legal system, unfortunately, but I hope you can get out of it! I know I'd be shitting myself if I were in your position.

Friday was crazy eh? They went through our wallets for fuck's sakes. I thought they were going to pull out q-tips and do residue tests! I guess that's one good thing about having to go through the border beforehand. I was the cleanest I've ever been!

My friend snuck some vodka in the festival in a partly crushed plastic water bottle. He was watching jail and it was in his back pocket. He wasn't drinking it or any thing and it looked totally like water. A beverage enforcement person came up and asked him what it was. He said water and then they grabbed it and made him leave the festival for the rest of the day. It was total bullshit. Only because it was it little crushed did they have any idea that it wasn't water. I could have gotten him back in, but he was to afraid, because the sherif said if anyone saw him again he would be fined a few thousand dollars for trespassing. |

Yeah I'm going to talk to some lawyers before I go back to Washington. I'd rather not get a guilty charge and end up with the maximum punishment of 90 days in jail. I'm just going to keep telling myself that it won't happen.
