MAN I WISH I WAS THERE FOR THAT!

When I see 'em in Brooklyn in a few weeks, I'm getting fucking trashed before it (coming from a guy who doesn't really drink that much).

I don't know what it's going to be like at other festivals but the turnout for GBV was shameful. Chromeo had the whole lower bowl packed during their set but during GBV the inner pit was like 1/5th full.

That's what I heard (the NPR people talked about each set between sets on the webcast and talked a lot about how the younger generation doesn't really gravitate as much to guitar-based rock anymore and legends like GBV and are geared more towards dance music, specifically citing 25 and under, and thus proving I don't belong to my generation one bit and should've been born 10 years earlier. This is a long fucking bit of parantheses. I think there is only 4 words OUTSIDE of the parentheses right now.)

Anywho, when I see 'em in NY it'll be a GBV show as opposed to a festival, so hpoefully that'll help.

Its been a while but I just had to share these little tidbits.
First night: our camp and all the camps around are robbed blind.
Day 1, hour 1: hopped off of a 2 foot high platform as sober as a judge not seeing that the long lush grass was hiding a hole perfectly molded to turn the sole of my size 16's directly upward when the rest of my leg stayed pointing straight downward and tore a ligament in my ankle.
Once I got those two epic failures out of the way, I proceeded to have one of the best weekends of my entire life and found this little tidbit about the shindig we had http://blogs.seattleweekly.com/reverb/20....e_kept_th_1.php
I hope you all had as much fun as I did (minus the first two parts obviously)

Glad I Got to very briefly meet pea, matt, souly, wolfy, womp, fd, hg, stormy, know and gibbons. Sad I didn't get to hang out with all if you. I had been talking to my group about my Internet friends an they were ripping on me pretty bad. Then they saw me meet everyone and they were like, wow that was actually pretty cool. They were jealous.

Favorite quote of the weekend: overheard a girl say, "Robyn was great, but she humped everything"

Didn't really see or experience anything that crazy really. Especially being at wild horse.

Favorite experiences:
- meeting the follow boardies
- glowpocalypse
- meeting somebody I never expected at Fitz and the Tantrums
- having someone come up to me on Sunday and say "Hey, we saw you at Bassnectar with the hat, was that glow stick thing organized ahead of time? Because it was the coolest thing we've ever seen."

Least favorite experience:
- Getting an earplug stuck in my ear, going to the medical tent to discover they have NO FUCKING TWEEZERS. Are you kidding me? No tweezers? For Real? The earplug was removed eventually thank goodness, but holy crap...

My favorite part of sasquatch is always just spotting artists cruising around the venue. Conor Oberst watched the Secret Sisters right next to me for a good 15 minutes. We stood right next to the non-mustachioed frontman from Local Natives during Twin Shadow, danced with Twin Shadow during Sharon Jones, and Wayne Coyne came in and watched Reggie Watts with us when I was in the front row. I'm so easily star struck it's disgusting :o

I missed chromeo to drink more and was actually kinda stoked I could pretty much walk right up to front. Everyone who was in that crowd was awesome.

yeah it may have been a tiny crowd but it was damn enthusiastic. I got a little worried I wouldn't be able to get as close as I wanted because the chromeo crowd was so big and made sure to get in line to get in before the end of chromeo set. I found it pretty hysterical how irrelevant my worries were.

At the begining of the set I was disappointed in how sober I was but after 3 pulls of maker's everything was much better

The fact that I only made it there once and it was already shut down proves to me that I royally fucked up my sasquatch this year.

Meeting quite a few of you fine people was amazing though.

I really enjoyed meeting everyone. Souly, FD, HG, Stormy, Gibbons, Know, Drew, Stamper, Cat, J-Dawg, Hectic, Snorlax, Lahey, Chaco, Zephyr, Wolfhat, Shaxpear.... There were probably others too, my memory is pretty fuzzy.

The Glowpocalypse was super fun, and I hope some of you got to play with the inflatables at Chromeo!
