You can at Sasquatch. Just not at Coachella or Pemberton.

Hello fellow Canadians!
I experienced my first ever festival last summer at Pemberton and now have an addiction, like I'm sure most of you have. Since Coachella is a little too far for me at this point (already have too many weddings to fly to this summer), I decided that I'm going to drive the 10 hours from Calgary to the Gorge.
My boyfriend and I have had great aspirations of attending Sasquatch for the last 3 years but just haven't been able to do it. This year I'm saying "screw it" and might just go by myself if I have to.
Can't wait to see the line-up in a week from now ...very excited about this electronica tent!

P.S. Do you even mention you are going to Sasquatch when you go across the border? I just wonder how much the guys know about the music festival there and whether they will search the crap out of you. Maybe I should just say I'm camping.
Odd question I know, but I'm kind of a neurotic traveller!

Just tell them your going to the festival, because 90% of the vehicles crossing that day are also going to the festival (that's what the guard to us anyway) and they don't give a shit. We have had really good luck at the border for the last 3 fests.

Don't cross at small border crossings, i crossed at the Waterton/Glacier national park and two old grannies took there job way to seriously and searched my whole car for drugs (i think i was the only car to pull through for the last hour and a bit). I also crossed in cranbrook once for the 07 sasquatch which has a duty free shop were you can purchase cheap alcohol.

I've actually had a much easier time crossing at the smaller border crossings. Last year we crossed at Sumas, there were 4 of us in the car, he didn't check any of our IDs, just asked where we were going and that was that. I was totally shocked/kinda wishing I had tried to smuggle some drugs or weapons haha.

So who's bummed at the lack of Canadian talent on the bill? In recent years we've been treated to the likes of: New Pornographers, Kathleen Edwards, Arcade Fire, Constantines, Tragically Hip.

I'd love to see any of the following acts: Wintersleep, Weakerthans, Metric, Black Mountain, the Stills, Wolf Parade, Sam Roberts.

Chromeo, Deadmau5, King Khan & the Shrines.
Not your typical Canadian artists, but there are still a few.
I was really hoping for one or more of the Wolf Parade side projects..Sunset Rubdown, Handsome Furs (new album), Swan Lake (new album), Blackout Beach (new album), Frog Eyes, Johnny & the Moon, or even maybe Wolf Parade! God they have a lot of side projects!

^^^any of that would be cool. i did see wolf parade once, but i thought it was the most boring show i'd ever seen. however, i do really like their music, so i am more than willing to give them another shot or two.

That's shocking that a Wolf Parade show would be boring. Most of their songs have so much energy. I've only managed to see Frog Eyes, Johnny & the Moon, and Handsome Furs. Still need to get my Spencer Krug fix.

I saw Wolf Parade at the Commodore last year, and they were great. I also saw Sunset Rubdown, which were good, but not as memorable as the WP show.

Anyone going to Wintersleep's March 30th show in Calgary? Off to (belatedly) get my tix today. This was the first I heard of it because I've been pissed at the lack of shows here lately and forget to check! Looking forward to it!
