Coachella is a great time. If you have a ticket and lodging locked, I would probably go if I was you. Your first time will be amazing.... having said that, the crowd there has gotten worse and worse over the last few years. Last year was the culmination of all the douchery that has been leaking in over time. I fear, like many others that are skipping this year, that Coachella has hit this peak and it's time to start looking for greener pastures.

If the crowd is an important factor for you, the general consensus is Sasquatch beats the hell out of Chella. Lineup wise, Chella wins hands down. Ok.

This is me as well. I did Coachella in 2009 and thought it was great, despite the huge crowds that often led to more people than there was space in the tent. Passed on 2010 but have been nothing but stressed and annoyed by whats going on with Coachella 2011, and have 0 interest in Dr. Garbanzohting scalpers and paying so much extra. all together, even with airplane tickets it looks like going to Sasquatch is going to cost about the same as it would to go to coachella, and you get an extra day! and I have always loved Sasquatch lineups, hits my tastes more on the nose than say the jam based Bonaroo or the electro rap side of coachella.

And yea, this forum is a bet dead, but easily makes up for the Napoleon complex egos posting on the coachella forums.

I'm assuming you meant bit dead. And yea, if you're used to warp-speed forums on crank (COACHELLA FORUMS) then I guess this would seem dead. I find it to be an absolute perfect pace though. You can actually keep up and communicate without getting your post lost 3 pages deep 15 seconds after posting it.

Also, Sasquatch only has 1 tent that is small as shit and gets massively packed, hot, and overflowed, so don't expect much better in that department.

Well I will say this for the Coachella board. They have that rumor mill running day and night. Perhaps it's because they don't have firm lineup release date or that their forums are just buzzing with board junkies that never seem to step away from their computers. Whatever the case, I do like to have a good glimpse of what to expect.

Thanks Matt. I live in Covington so it would be quite a drive just to see the lineup.

I wouldn't say I'm jumping ship but I am going to Sasquatch this year and not Coachella. I would be going to Coachella but due to the camping fiasco, I am not. I have always wanted to go to Sasquatch though so I guess this will be the year!

Hola!

I "might" be jumping ship to Sasquatch. Friends can't stop raving about it. Went to Chella in 2006 and haven't been back since because of school/work. Decided to go this year and got tickets and a camping spot. Then I saw Sasq's lineup and bought tickets right away. If I can't get time off for both of them, I'll probably end up selling my Coachella stuff. A lot of the acts I wanted to see in Indio are playing at the Gorge as well as a few extras and going to the Gorge will be a hell of a lot more conveiniant. That and I'm gettin old and from various opinions it sounds like I'll be less likely to strangle someone at Sasquatch.

Slap my ass and call me excited.

*raises hand*

I haven't actually attended Coachella before, though. I'm a recent transplant from the east coast and have been talking about going to Coachella forever. I got a ticket in December when they were put up for layaway, but alas, no one else I know got a ticket before they sold out. Then chaos ensued with camping and I was over all of it pretty quickly. It stressed me out way too much.

I've heard amazing things about Sasquatch from some of my friends, so I sold my Coachella ticket, bought a Sasquatch ticket, and will be road tripping my ass up there from SoCal.

I'm really excited about it. :) So far I'm digging the relaxed vibe. I'm 100% sure I made the right decision!
