I'm fairly confident that we don't have the ability to block other members so we don't have to see their posts. I've heard one or two of the mods say they think that we DO have this function available to us; if we do, I can't find it.

The usual argument that blocking a member might result in missing out on important parts of a conversation or message board comedy gold is a good one, but personally I'd like to be able to identify exceptions to that rule on my own. Is there some kind of switch we can flip to make it so we can do that?

I'll keep an eye out for a way to block a specific user's posts, but for the time being, you can start small:

There, you can block a user from PM-ing you in the future. It's a start...

Yeah, I did find that one. That's moderately useful, but doesn't fully suit my needs.

What happens if I click my own "block user" button? It's like a hot stove...I know I shouldn't touch it but I HAVE TO KNOW FOR SURE!!!

Logically speaking, blocking your own posts only means you can't read them. Your username/avatar box will still be there, which means the unblock option should still be there. You can most likely toggle between block and unblock at will.

In other words, I wouldn't touch it.
