The new camping strategy is insane. They would get way more people to buy the 4-day passes if camping was not included. My best guess is that camping is not per person. However, the all-inclusiveness pretty much means only one person in your group should buy the discount pack which is not fair. I love Sasquatch but they need to step up their game and not be trying to trick more people than necessary into buying pricey camping passes.

HEY SASQUATCH ADMINS: THIS THREAD=CLARIFY YOUR CAMPING SITUATION OR WE'RE NOT BUYING DISCOUNT PACKS

Nobody who has anything to do with the festival can hear you, but it doesn't matter because you don't seem to know what you are talking about.

We don't want the extra 5000 people coming to hang out in the campground just to party. It causes overcrowding as well as health and safety issues. There are no camping passes, there are festival passes, which means you are paying for YOUR OWN ability to camp. If you have one person buy the 'discount pack' to get camping, then that one person is going to have access to the campground and you're not going to have anywhere to go when the show is over. The camping situation is perfectly clear, it's just different and people can't seem to wrap their heads around it.

Lastly, this is a large-scale music festival and it is growing in popularity as well as in scope. Anticipate the price continuting to rise, every year. Anticipate them finding every way to get money out of you they possibly can. Anticipate taking it up the ass like a champ, or anticipate making other plans for Memorial Day Weekend, but please god please let the bitching about the camping passes end.

This pretty much sums it up. Seriously, people: know what you're talking about. The camping details are written in (good enough) English on many websites (http://www.gorgecamping.com/, http://www.sasquatchfestival.com/#/gorge/camping) so just take a few minutes and read them. You might find answers to many of your questions. The wording is a little ambiguous at times, but the information is decipherable.

THERE ARE NO CAMPING PASSES.

BUYING FESTIVAL TICKETS GRANTS YOU ACCESS TO THE CAMPGROUND.

YOU CAN NOT BUY CAMPING PASSES INDIVIDUALLY.

YOU CAN NOT CAMP IF YOU ARE NOT ATTENDING THE FESTIVAL.

YOU CAN NOT SPLIT THE PRICE OF CAMPING WITH OTHER PEOPLE. CAMPING IS BEING CHARGED ON AN INDIVIDUAL AND FAIR BASIS.

And you're certainly not going to teach anyone a lesson by not buying a 'discount pack'.

If ANYONE else has ANY more questions regarding this, please shove them up your ass because all of the answers are right there.

I'm thinking some of us regulars need to put our heads together and create a thorough "read first" FAQ sticky so these kind of things don't keep repeating themselves for the next 6 months.

Assuming everything works out well with the all-inclusive camping this year, I think Sasquatch really has the right idea going on. Coachella attendees are absolutely losing their shit right now because camping is completely sold out but festival tickets are still for sale. The result of asshole scalpers, people going just to party and not attend the fest, and overall poor planning on the organizer's end. I love that Sasquatch took the initiative to keep non-festival attendees out of the property.

The Sasquatch people get it. It's just as much about the experience as it is the lineup. On a similar note, I'm glad the Gorge has a very limited capacity (compared to the big three fests). Squatch will never have the problems Coachella is facing right now.

It's had those problems in the past. Not last year but I think the year before that camping passes sold out and people flipped; they had to open a whole other part of that huge cow pasture to make room for people (but at least they had that option).

I was one of the people in said pasture and it was fucking miserable. We showed up late on Saturday and got stuck right near the entrance where all of the day parkers drove by and constantly stirred up a giant dust cloud. We practically had dust caked in our teeth by the end of the weekend.

The only thing I'm confused about is how much space you get with the camping.. Do you get one camp site per car? Or do you get one per person? That's the problem with selling them like they are. Technically, since EACH ticket comes with camping access, EACH person should get that the specified space.. so if you have a group of 10, you would take up 10x as much room as a group of one. Which makes sense, but it's not really practical. I guess we'll see. I don't really care either way. I'm not picky.
