 Hotels?
« Thread Started on Nov 18, 2010, 1:54pm »

So this is my first year doing Sasquatch. However, my friend absolutely refuses to camp. Are there any hotels nearby?

Seriously, let your friend worry about hotels and join the party in the campground. Admission price covers camping anyway, so if you don't you're just stuffing money down a rathole.

And yes, they have hotels in Washington. Hotels that you have to drive to while drunk, high, or both. Or sober after a 12 hour festival day. Hm.

Ditch the friend and experience Sasquatch the way it was intended, I've never been and this will be my first time, whoever your friend is, tell them to camp, tie them up and duct tape them if you have to.

Yeah really, anyone with a bug up their butt about camping is also going to be the first person who bitches out when it starts raining or hailing. Not that that ever happens at Sasquatch.

Others will disagree, but if there was no camping possibility at Sasquatch and the only option was to stay at one of the existing hotels I probably wouldn't go. All the hotels in the area are at least a half hour drive away, and that drive takes place with hundreds of other cars all leaving at the same time. Additionally, as HG was saying, you will have just finished an entire day (or 3) of festivaling and at lease one person in the car will have to be sober. I wouldn't test the law enforcement by flirting with a DUI/DWI because they are definitely out in force over there that weekend. But that's up to you.

Those are all reasons not to hotel, and the main reason to camp is that it's awesome. It's by no means "roughing it" when you have car with all your gear right next to your tent. There's even a general store in case you forget/run out of something, and running water and showers available. If you want, splurge on the enhanced "premier camping" where they give you more space, dedicated washrooms, and more.

Seriously though, the whole "camping vs. hotel" debate has been gone over countless times on this message board. Do some digging if you need more info.

No joke dude, they're like jackals. There's a bottleneck at this little overpass right as you're heading out to the highway where they just sit and pick kids off like flies.

I couldn't imagine going to Sasquatch and not camping. That's half the fun of it!
