Packing Food

I don't want to buy/eat festival food all day for three days.

What kinds of food is anyone bringing into the festival?

The above are good choices. I made the mistake of bringing in that flavored tuna one year, the kind that lasts forever in the cupboard...what a fucking mistake...it was hot whn i ate it! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

im going to do lots of pasta / non-perishable sauces, and boil the water on my propane powered bbq...some veggie dogs, canned foods (like chef-boyaredee) (sp). cereal w/ soy milk, canned soups...anything that won't go off over time / in heat...but i'll DEFIANTLY be bringing in some steaks / burgers for friday night! hit me up!

This is pretty much how I roll too. I usually bring gin rather than vodka, though. Also, baked goods are really nice. I can't wait for this year's batches of banana bread and oatmeal cookies! Fruit that can survive being knocked around in a backpack is also nice. Apples and oranges do well. I don't eat it, but beef jerky is another staple. The last couple years they've given away enough free Jack Links inside the venue that none of my friends actually needed the jerky they brought.

Just remember that whatever food you bring needs to be in packaged in a see-through container. And any booze you bring in needs to be well disguised! Like with one of those glasses/nose/mustache combos.

Ok, flying in, then grocery shopping (and to REI for stove fuel), then drive to the Gorge.

I think I'll try to cook a bigger meal at noon before we head into the festival each day. Thanks for the reminder on see-through containers, Wolfhat. And, warm tuna sounds gross, so I appreciate the comment, Blacksmile.

I'm thinking PBJs, trail bars/fiber one bars, and crackers to pack and take into the venue. I have a camelbak daypack for water and carrying supplies.

just a quick question,

i know we can bring in food in bags....but what about see through rubbermaid containers? i Dr. Garbanzoured it will be alright, but just want to make sure

rubbermaid containers are great for things like sandwiches so they don't get crushed in your backpack. thanks for reminding me to buy some new containers this year
