 Fly or Drive?
« Thread Started on Feb 12, 2013, 8:10pm »

HI! I'm from Los Angeles and this is going to be my first time attending the Sasquatch Festival. What's the best airport to fly into? I'm thinking about just flying into Seattle then tackle the 3 hr drive into Gorge OR idk maybe I might decided to drive up from LA. Ugh choices. Any suggestions and/or recommendations would be appreciated ;D

Airline and rental car rates into Seattle would probably be your best option. On a nice day, the drive from Seattle to the Gorge is one of the most breathtaking drives you will ever take. I highly recommend it to anyone from outside of the area. The only downside to flying is the lack of equipment you can bring with you, but it's definitely doable. There are plenty of shopping centers and grocery stores between Seattle (technically Seatac) and the mountain pass that you can stock up at after picking up your car.

I've driven down to Coachella (from Vancouver) a couple of different times now and loved it. If you're the road trip type it can be awesome, especially if you have the time to drive the coast.

If you have the time and enough friends to split the costs I'd drive, but if it's just you then flying is probably a lot easier.

Alaska Air flys to Wenachee and to Yakima. You can route from LAX (or BUR, SNA, etc) to SEA then on to Yakima or Wenachee and be less than an hour from Quincy / Sasquatch.

I'm pretty sure those construction projects are all finished up.

I don't think Washington actually knows how to finish a construction project.

They just pick a new one in another inconvenient spot to ruin traffic for 18 months.

Because Washington is easily distracted due to excessive bong hits.

Those construction projects have been on that road since I started going to Sasquatch, these many years ago. I'm sure it's just roadwork that gets built, then taken apart, then built again, etc.

Or it gets half-finished, they run out of money, and have to pass another highway levy, halting work for 2 years.

We drive, but its actually really fun. Especially when you have awesome/awful playlists and know lots of the lyrics, and bring trail mix.

:) You're going to have such a good time!
