I'm staying at the Cave B Inn nearby Weds night so we can pretty much get in line anytime we want on Thursday. Will people be getting there hours before they open the gate to get a good camp spot?
and yes I realize this isn't an official Sasquatch forum, any advice would be appreciated though!

It is as official as you will find.
I arrived friday morning last year about 9am. No lines. Lots of room. There were no lines at 10am.

If you get there first they may put you as far from the entrance as you can be.
Getting there early =/= Good spot.

Yeah, good spot is relative as they just throw you in there. I guess you definitely won't be in overflow. I would plan on getting there when or slightly before the gates open and there will be less of a line.

so you peeps are saying that even though it's premium camping they assign you spots? you can't just go pick a spot closest to the entrance as possible?

No. No one said that as you never mentioned premier camping. Either way they still assign you a spot as far as I know. But I have never camped in premier so I am not positive.

As close to the entrance as possible isn't really going to put you that much closer to the venue. The hike from camping to the venue is a trek (albeit a fun trek) no matter where you are. The event is 1/4 the size of a festival the size of Coachella so even the worst spots aren't that far back.
I've never done premier camping but I seem to remember there being a shuttle? I may be making that up but it's a possibility that it exists. Otherwise you're looking at a 10-15 minute walk to the venue.

This is true. Premier has a shuttle so it doesn't really matter anyway.

There is a shuttle from the campgrounds to the festival entrance, it runs all day...I prefer to walk to the venue and take the shuttle back later at night when my body is beat..

In Premier and Terrace they let you pick from available spots, or they have in the past.
For Terrace the shuttle drops you off right at the Bigfoot Stage, which is very nice.
As I understand it, Standard Camping has no shuttle, but as long at the Premier Shuttle is not full, they will let anyone on until it fills up.

Thank you everyone. I posted my topic pretty late and had intended on mentioning premier camping but clearly failed to do so!
So the general consensus is show up an hour early or on time? and that they assign you a spot, and it doesn't matter where because there's a shuttle service anyways..

The spot can matter. You want to be right on the road? Right on the fence to General Camping? Next to a "Thunder Closet" ? Down the hill a little to reduce the noise from General? Close to the shuttle pickup? Lots of options. Depends on what works for you.

Word. The only benefit is maximizing party time.
