Other than the sort of hilarious "short-sided" mistake, blerg seemed fairly articulate as well as good intentioned, if a little reactionary. And magjua seems like good, articulate people as well. You're both welcome in my book. It gets chippy once in a while but I think we're generally polite.

I'm pretty sure no one got banned and I'm pretty sure the deletion was an accident that was called out. In public. We've all been reactionary at some (many) (wonk) times but that's how most people started here. Terrace camping iz srs bznss.

While we are on and off topic, one thing you might want to consider:
There is a need for a Sasquatch! message board. Most of the major festivals have official or semi-official boards that help people attend and enjoy the events. These are marketing arms of the event. The people that manage the various boards are generally compensated in some manner (VIP passes / $$$ / etc.).

This board is currently the only option for Sasquatch!. If it is going to remain a dominant option it needs to improve its focus on utility. The personality and quips can be maintained, but either the focus is going to be on the event, or each other. I am not sure you can do both.

There are people from Sasquatch! that have looked in from time to time and have walked away because of excessive juvenile behavior. Maybe you like it that way. If so, great. Your product. You have kept it going for years.

But you have something here. You have a unique culture and a deep knowledge base that could be of real value to the event. It has its own entertaining elements that should be preserved. But if if there were a little more utility and a little less oppression, then it would be valuable to others and you could leverage that.

Just an observation.

How do you know Sasquatch people look in from time to time and walk away? The only other board I occasionally read is Coachella, and this board is six thousand times more civilized than that one.

Second, how do you propose we add "utility"? We already answer most people's questions and keep a fairly clean ship in terms of organization. What else is possible?

I am all about this board being incorporated by the festival and legitimized. Coachella admins go to Coachella for free; I would hella be an admin for a free pass. I think that other people around here don't want to be legitimized, though.

There is a great deal of your post that I would agree with but this ^ is every message board, official or unofficial, for better or worse. Coachella's official board for instance, is a million times worse than this place in terms of its juvenile members, content etc.
