 Last Year's Camping
« Thread Started on Nov 9, 2011, 5:40pm »

Hey gang. I wasn't going to make a whole new thread about this but I've looked at pretty much every thread from last year 'bout camping and haven't found any answers.

How did last year's camping compare to previous years? Did the camping being included with the ticket limit the amount of idiots hanging around stealing/smashing? Was there more room?

We were given a gigantic amount of space, especially compared to the last two years. The camping being included with the festival pass really helped keep out the people there just to hang out and fill up our space. There were still reports of people jumping in tents looking for items to steal, but for the most part, keeping your valuables locked in your car easily combats this. Best of all, I didn't see one pregnant woman.

Seriously, camping last year was a vast improvement over previous years. Also we where all camped within spitting distance of each other.

I so looked forward to visiting your semi-circle of chairs under the imaginary canopy every morning.

We had the for reals canopy. Gunther had the imaginary canopy. Although we were there pretty much all weekend.

Fucking hilarious how we would all huddle inside the perimeter of that canopy frame even though there was no canopy. Oh and also how drunk we managed to get on Sunday morning.

I need to invest in one of them fer reals canopies this year. We did some fancy footwork with tarps and the top of the rented minivan last year but that requires lots of crouching.

A canopy is basically essential for Sasquatch.

Last year was actually the first year that we had any issues with the camping (Out of the past four). We had our cooler stolen with about half of a thirty rack of beer and our hamburger meat and eggs. We didn't really care about the beer being stolen since we blamed that on ourselves for not putting it into our car, but they really had to steal our hamburger meat and eggs?

Our neighbors on one side also had their tent slashed open (too lazy to use the zipper?) and everything in their tent was trashed. And our neighbors on the other side had some pot stolen.

Maybe it was just an isolated incident but personally last year was the worst stealing and slashing I've encountered there.

I found that if I left no valuables out we had no issues. Left the cooler in the car and any valuables not brought inside were left in the car. Souly got her tent slashed but nothing was stolen. We had none of that.

When we got there we went balls out to get out and establish enough room for our huge group (we had like seven tents to set up for various people) but we did not have any issues and had a sufficient amount of space. We had enough room for our canopy as well. And like HG said, by some wonderful stroke of luck we were camped within moments of Gunther, Pea and Fox, Friendly, Souly, and even little Snorlax. It was the most fun I have ever had at the campgrounds.

Total boardie overload for drunk Pea when you all mysteriously showed up in the darkness that first night.

Thank you Squatch gods.

Man we were pretty faced by the time we stumbled over to your little encampment. There were so many of us milling around that I couldn't keep track of us all.

Hilarious: about half a dozen of us found the absolute darkest corner of the campground and stood talking in a circle where we couldn't see each others' faces. It couldn't have been any more tragic if each of us had actually said 'Post Reply' after everything we said.
