 Coffee @the Campgrounds
« Thread Started on May 3, 2011, 12:19pm »

Hey - I'm just curious if there are strict rules on selling coffee in the campsite. .

The last two years I attended I woke up each morning hungover and craving bacon & coffee.

Year 1 I managed to find someone who was making coffee and selling it for a ridiculous price.

Year 2 I brought instant coffee which sucked.

This year I am coming way more prepared and considering bringing a big coffee maker and selling cups of joe for a cheap price. (even cheaper if you bring your own mug)

I heard that this is OK as long as Jive Nation (LN) doesn't catch you.

My question is - if they do catch me, are they going to revoke my weekend pass, or just ask me to stop brewing coffee?

Also considering making a tonne of pancakes....

Yeah, that would be great. Pair of Blueberry Pancakes + Coffee for $5.00 - I think that works.

We make coffee using a little propane camp stove and a french press. It's awesome unless for some reason there's a dozen hungover people rolling out of their tents smelling coffee... Then the process starts to take a while. If you bring something to make large batches of coffee, I'm camping next to you.

Honestly, that's what I'm thinking of doing. I think the french press would be lovely, but it'd be really difficult to get it in the hands of 20 people in a decent amount of time. Thinking of borrowing a restaurant coffee maker..

A to Z event rentals in Spokane will rent large coffee machines. Just need a power pack or somewhere to plug it in.

Hehe that was me about the Jive Nation thing. Lots of people sell small stuff like that and it seems to be ok. They seem to really only crack down on the big huge camps selling breakfast burritos and stuff. I would sexually buy bacon from you.

Yeah for sure realize that you're pretty much talking to the same set of people here as on Facebook.

I will have the coffee pot on during the morning. As far as the rest of the food, it will depend on how much I have left. I never like to throw anything out, so I cook a little extra and give it to the ppl around me. Works great on the morning I cook biscuits and gravy. I woulod charge if someone expected me to give them food all weekend long, but other that prearranged situations, that hasn't happened.

If they catch you I think they will ask you to stop and if you continue they will take action. They told these hippies to stop selling breakfast burritos last year and gave them shit when they continued.

I'm so tempted to go all out and bring like 5000 glowsticks and sell them by the 100 pack. But really, fuck that.
