Best two consecutive posts in the history of this god-forsaken board. Switch is Gibbons' heir apparent.

There can only be one Gibbons.....but to have my name mentioned in the same sentence as him is an honor.

So....am I the only person that thinks it is absolutely BS that VIP have in and out privileges but GA does not???? The explanation that it is a "Gorge Amphitheater" issue about ins and outs when apparently what it really means is that it is actually a financial issue??? This does not seem the least bit reasonable. If you pay $1200 you can go in and out, but if you pay $300 you cannot? It would seem it is actually all about the cash isn't it...bummer:-((

That is what the website says.

Quote:
In and out access from Main venue to and from Terrace Campground for all 3 days of the festival

Unless they have varying degrees of VIP which seems a bit ridiculous.

If the everyone had in and out, it would make security's job much more difficult, and much more expensive. As well as plummeting costs for the venues food, wouldn't offset the cost of thousands of people getting a little more over zealous than your average show, (so I would assume, as Sas is really the only show I can afford to go to at the Gorge) and again disrupting sources of profit.

There's only a limited amount of VIP, and they really should get in and out privileges, hell they should get full entrees and free liquor, but I guess you have to draw the line somewhere.

I am afraid I am going to have to disagree, and while security costs may be higher with in and out privileges I personally feel the $295.00 I paid should cover that. It does at other festivals with more people attending such as Coachella with 75,000 tickets sold and at Bonnaroo with how ever many tickets they sell. I agree that VIP should get plenty of added value due to the cost of that tier of ticketing but not with exclusive in/out privileges. If "they" want us to be a captive audience and only have the option to buy their food and drink they should at least provide edible options and I find most of what has been available at the gorge concerts I have attended less than appealing. There also should be a good choice of alcohol meaning beer I like! Seriously if we have to pay so ridiculously much for a beer couldn't there at least be an brand that I like?

I am sorry to be a grinch but this is the one aspect of Sasquatch that I feel needs bitching about, in and out privileges. I know my complaint means nothing in the scheme of things but nonetheless I feel pretty strongly about it and for what its worth venting helps, if only a little:-)

Mase how much did you pay for the vip ticket? It could be a scam. I know some people who had tickets that said vip on them and they didn't provide any extra benefits.

If they allowed in and out privileges could you imagine the bottleneck at the gates? Usually in the early afternoon you wait in a line for 45 minutes to get your bag checked and let in. That wait would only grow and carry into the evening if people came and went as they pleased.
