Why would you need to sneak booze into camping? Unless of course you are underage...

Coming from "Hongcouver" I would suggest that you worry more about getting illegal drugs through the border rather than getting it into the campsite (Don't be an idiot and try to get drugs across the border). You won't be getting any smuggling secrets here...

Regardless, you aren't searched upon entry into the campground, so getting booze in as an underage person won't be that difficult. However, you could get carded if you look young and are walking around a drunken mess. So be discrete and you should be fine.

Our list is pretty comprehensive and excessive:-) For Coachella we had to rent a Uhaul trailer to pull down to Indio and then a Uhaul pickup in Indio to transfer all the stuff so we could actually bring it into the festival. We did however have a group of 56 people though and we are going light for Sasquatch:-)
4 easy up shade canopies
full camp kitchen
BBQ
3 burner stove
Pots, pans, and other kitchen ware to make some great meals
4 coolers - 2 for drinks
4 tents for us and 4 for other people on the board that need to borrow them
herb, more herb, extra herb, lots of precooked herbal goodies and don't forget the mushrooms (they are food aren't they?)
bedding for all of us and the other people from the board that need to borrow
800 glow sticks and 60 glow stick baseball caps
led drink glasses
first aid kit including ibuprofen and wound care in case someone gets an ouchie
music system and quiet generator/converter
27 strings of solar lights
full costume trunk with wigs, makeup, crazy hats, masks and assorted LED garments
camp chairs for everyone in our group
10 cases of good beer, vodka, rum, bourbon and mixers
8 cases of water plus 10 gallons for washing and whatever
lawn bowling, darts, card table for poker if we get a game going, and other games
clothes - stuff for heat and stuff for cold(fleece) - never underestimate the variations of temperature in the gorge!
toolbox...never know what might break
couple of lanterns and absolutely have to have a few flashlights - porta potties at night...yuck
3 extra phone batteries and 2 cameras - can't have too many photos
guitar and percussion instruments - may want to jam!
rattan couch if we can fit it on the back of the truck:-)
Gosh...hope I didn't forget anything!

Pen, that's our difficulty as well. We're dedicating one suitcase to our tent, blankets, tarp, etc and the other suitcase will hoard all of our clothes. I am kind of in denial about how we're going to schlep everything.

Luckily my uncle in Yakima can hook us up if there's anything we can't bring on the plane.

My biggest upset about flying to Washington is not being able to bring Moose Drool beer back with us.

Here is the starter list I give to all our friends going. The food is mainly suggestions as to good things. Well I guess this is all just suggestions. I always like to have a few extra clothes in case I get wet, am feeling in a certain mood, or to help others. Obviously not everyone can bring a ton based on the way they travel.

CAMPING

tent
sleeping bags
pillows
mattress/sleeping pad if you have one

CLOTHES

socks (LOTS!)
underoos
t-shirts (5-7)
warm shirts (4-5)
pants (2-3)
skirts
hats

ACCESSORIES

ponchos
sunglasses
sunscreen
camera
gum
garbage bags
tp/paper towels
headlamps
bandaids
ibuprofen
batteries
plates/bowls/silverware
wet wipes
cards/games/PHASE 10
chairs
camp stove
canopy

FOOD

eggs
bread
nuts
fruit
granola bars/energy bars
spam? (good for breakfast)
peanut butter
jelly
carrot sticks
crackers
cheese
water
coffee
beer

OTHER

cigarettes (if you smoke, duh)
weed
party favors (I guess the kids call them 'enhancers' now??)
glowsticks or costumes

WHAT TO LEAVE AT HOME

all negatons
any concern for any events outside of the gorge for four beautiful days - give yourself that present

Yeah, I ALMOST checked some Charleston beer last year, but eventually decided that it was too expensive, probably illegal or something anyway, and the bottles would probably end up all broken after the baggage handlers.

columbia, I like that you're really getting into this fest. You've got the camping down, for sure! you seem like the coolest mom, ever.

That says a lot because my mom ranks pretty high up there.
