Do you think there's anyway we could talk to some part of the org and get a reserved area? I mean, we are the official sasquatch board, right? That would make coordination almost unnecessary.

Realism, pha. With a lot of work and coordination, something somewhat close to a board group campsite could conceivably be put together.

We met up with 4 cars and drove in last year. That was ok. 16 cars on the other hand might be a little insane.

We drove in with three cars and set up such that we retained space for two more to come in. Now finding people and guiding them to our spot while frying balls... that was the hard part.

We had to do that for a group last year. It actually worked out pretty
well, but it would have been tough to save more space.

I do love this idea, and I hope you all do it in some form. Our group is already north of 30 people though. Seattle, Eugene, San Diego, Ypsilanti, Missoula, and Vancouver are already meeting. We will definitely have identifying markers that we will make sure to post here, and I do look forward to spending some time with you all, but the logistical planning of what we already have going on being tripled is frightening to think about.

Last year my crew was two parties of two. My party got to the festival three hours late. The other got there six hours late. On paper, everything should work fine, but there are several factors that will contribute to people being late (traffic, construction, accidents, working late, or my favorite, "whoops, got way too drunk last night so I can't move").

Ellensburg was mentioned as a nice spot to meet if you are coming from the Seattle area, however, if we're talking about 15-30 vehicles filled with people who don't know each other, or each other's cars, how is that train going to work all the way to the Gorge campground, which is still another 45 minutes from Ellensburg (that was a guess, I don't drive through Ellensburg coming from Portland)? Is that the car we were supposed to be following? Pull over, I've got to pee.

Not to mention there will be people taking Thursday off, and driving through the day, people working Thursday and driving through the night, and people arriving Friday morning. The way I see it working is having different pods of boarders located in different areas of the campground. There is already going to be the emptyfox/Peatrick pod, and the Horned Gramma pod. If either "pod" wants to expand, just Dr. Garbanzoure out the most convenient meet up place and time for your pod, post it on the board (or via PM), and those who can make it join in. Those who can't start their own meet up time for a different pod. This obviously won't need to be decided for a couple months.

PS. We are probably underestimating how many of us there are, how many friends we all have, and how many lurkers are going to want to join a pod. We're obviously the coolest of the cool when it comes to Sasquatch, so even if I had zero posts, I'd rather camp with you guys than risk get stuck next to a bunch of Foo Dr. Garbanzohters fanboys.
