 Big ol' Teepee
« Thread Started on Feb 8, 2011, 2:02pm »

So I'm making a teepee that will fit like ten people inside, I plan on arriving pretty early and I want to be able to set this thing up. Will I have enough room? Is there something I can do in general camping that will give me enough room to set this up? Will the people directing the cars even let me set something like this up? (It'll be like 12 feet tall and maybe 20-ish feet in diameter) There's going to be about ten people sleeping in it, we're driving 4 or 5 cars down.

You may be harassed by the parking hillbillies.. Just tell them that there is a bunch of people camping at the spot & stand your ground. The earlier you get there, better chances of you getting the big spot you need.

Peace & Love

I saw two different teepees last year. Not sure they were that big, but if you have 4 cars driving in you should be able to make it work.

We camped next to a teepee last year. You'll need two or three cars' worth of space, at least.

For some reason, reading the beginning of the thread, I thought this dude was offering spots in said teepee. Then I got a great idea for a movie called "Rape Teepee"

Just get there and start setting it up ASAP. Tell all of your people to park like assholes and don't take any shit from the parking police. Or even better, let them park you where they want, then when they're busy directing other people around, drive out into the middle of the campground and set it up. By the time they start parking cars there they will have given up trying to strong-arm people around.

Yeah, dude, you won't have a problem. I've seen plenty of structures in past years at least as big as what you're talking about. If things are too crowded where you're sent in the campground, you may have to drive a bit further away from the festival entrance to secure enough land for your nomadic palace, but that's no biggie. You're biggest concern will definitely be a late-night raid from warlord Peatrick's neighboring tribe.

Just hold your ground when you get there. Last year we really had to Dr. Garbanzoht for our right to party. And that was just to get a canopy up. But if you don't let them push you around you will be fine.
