Ugggh, that's shitty to hear, especially since part of what I was looking forward to was strategically placing our canopy near the tent in a way that it will help block *some* of the early morning sun that roasted us as we tried to sleep last year. Guess I'll just be waking up early to put up the canopy before we head into the festival.

I wouldn't worry about it quite that much. The early morning was not when the wind was. This was more early to late afternoon.

Haha that's when the windstorm happened during Coachella. The grounds' crew came through and hauled away all of the broken and toppled canopies, and there were plenty of confused campers upon returning to their campsites that night. Thankfully some of our friends were around to help get our site sorted out and to warn us about what had happened before we got back.

[img][/img] If there is an image here it is my Stevenson camp that weathered the wind.

@Stormy - That's good to know. I remember intense winds at the gorge but hadn't paid much attention to when they started.

@Dani46 If you can get the photo working I'd be very curious to see the setup. I think I'll still most likely take the canopy down when not in use during the day, but I'd still like to see.

This is me feeling like an idiot.

I also promptly changed out of pants after this picture was taken.
